I wonder if anyone can help me, after starting my rear brakes at the weekend two of the spline bolts holding the caliper frame/carrrier to the rear hub have rounded nightmare!!! My question is are the M14 spline bolts available to buy individually anywhere? VW and Skoda have not been that helpful. Does anyone have an idea on how to get them out now thay are rounded I have a few ideas but am wondering if anyone has had the same problem. Thanks Craig.

1. Do these gearboxes have the vehicles vin no on them anywhere? or a code that matches them to the car? 2. Are the gearboxes coded with vcds ? 3. Can the gearbox tell vcds the mileage it has covered from new with vcds ? ( like Bmw's can? ) Your help is appreciated Thanks.

Hello again i have a couple of questions after an ongoing dispute with the stealers. I own a 2007 PD170 vrs, i have had it twelve months so far i have had quite a few problems but i absolutely love it when it's running o.k.. The Clutch and DMF had a problem from day 1 of ownership, which i flagged up on test drive and stealers fluffed over until it became a lot worse, so the clutch and DMF were replaced ( after a stand off which i won ) but since then engageing 2nd gear in the morning can be quite obstructive ? Which i find odd after stealer said they have fitted new Clutch kit and DMF? Why would this happen any ideas? I have also heard several times a noise like an abrasive spinning noise ( very faint ) when coming to a stop or parking, again very strange? then it goes away. Why any ideas? I have exhausted all avenues with this one I phoned the stealers described what was happening they said sounds like gearbox trouble 2nd gear synchro or worse maybe a new box ! ? The car has only done 43000 FSH .The car is just out of extended warranty aswell. I looked into gearbox failure as a worst case on a previous thread but link is broken. Have you heard of this ? Can anyone in the know help with these issues please? Regards

Garland skoda use this oil for diesels as there longlife oil for longer intervals, they probably sell as 4ltr to get you to buy the extra litre. I have this oil in my pd170 works a treat.

The stealers are vcds reliant they don't know how to do proper mechanical investagation anymore ! quite sad really. Vacuum test the incoming feed at filter if this pulls instantly through as it should go to the fuel lines on the top of the fuel tank. again vacuum test feed line here sometimes get a sticky valve. The fuel should instantly pull through with one pump if not thats your problem either replace or repair unit. I hope this helps Regards

No they won't work until coded if non canbus. Why did they advise non canbus and to code i'm puzzled ? :wonder:

it all depends whether they are canbus or non canbus units mine have got canbus decoders built in, and work perfectly had em for twelve mths now no problems

Hi go on you tube type in mighty mods ipad install , the install they do is on a subaru legacy but the the method of how to is very helpful. then if you get stuck you can always get advise on here. I have the mp3 stream hooked up via an amp to a 600 w kenwood sub with standard door speakers sounds good for a cheap install but if you dont wasnt all the cds floating around in the car have a go at the above you can use any tablet go and check it out ... I hope this helps a bit.
