  1. Fantastic... Interesting how majority problems seem to be related to oil / hydraulic parts.
  2. Just an update, got the car back last night. I forgot to mention that it had been in for service on Tuesday, and when I received it back it was leaving puddles of oil on the floor. This apparently was down to a faulty oil filter, which they changed yesterday. However there still was a Small puddle of oil this morning on the road, I don't know if this is just what's reaming from the fault filter running off the chassis. Onto the sparkplugs / misfire I was still having after they replaced the plugs. I asked if the ECU upgrade had been done and they said that it was already on the latest version, and without the car producing a fault code for the misfire that I can feel, there is nothing they can do. I'm going to monitor the oil puddles, but I think its probably going to be going back in tomorrow.
  3. Thanks. I don't believe it did have new plugs after the new engine, and while they say the fitted a new engine, i believe that it was one of the short units you mentioned. is it best to contact Skoda Uk and inform them of the situation or just keep returning to the Skoda dealer and getting them to deal with it?
  4. what are the chances of ruined plugs damaging the engine? the 4 removed from my car on Tuesday were shot, and im guessing they have been for a while and only just been changed at 40K. Id like as much info as i can gather before i go back to skoda dealer tonight. thanks
  5. 62 Plate Registered Oct 2012 CAVE engine. Replaced at 18K with another CAVE engine for Fail on Oil Consumption test. Engine now using less oil but having problems with Misfires.
  6. 62 plate with 40k running Tesco 99 Ron Yes all 4 plugs have now been changed. but still having issues hence being back in today. I have just been reading some of your other posts about the ECU update, and im going to enquire later.
  7. Hi All, Im having this trouble with my VRS, they have replaced plugs and said there was a misfire recorded on cyl 3. Drove it this morning and it still feels like its missing while im stationary in traffic. Needless to say its gone back in today, and yet again im in a loan car. Id be interested to know if its always the same cyl on everyone else's engines that experiencing this. Really starting to question Skoda's reliability, i thought this was something that had improved lots since the old days of Skoda. Perhaps not
  8. So it would seem that my oil saga is coming to a swift end (hopefully). After reading some of the horrific experiances some people have had with dealers on here, i was expecting i would just have to live with the fact it uses a monumental amount of oil. However............ Took my car in complaining about a misfiring problem, they ran a consumption test, and hey presto new engine being fitted. I just hope that i dont have any problems after this, and i hope that the "oiloholic" VRS is now cured.
  9. Do people actually see much difference in the two fuel types? is it worth the extra you pay at the pump? how much kinder to your engine is it? Are there big performance gains or better fuel consumption? Would be interesting to hear peoples thoughts
  10. How the hell do you guys get this kind of MPG return. I don't have a particularly heavy foot.... ( only on occasions ) and I'm getting 25MPG (30 MPG Best average). The only thing I have mine poor return is that its still fairly new with 1.5K on the clock.
  11. Date of registration: 24 October 2012 Colour: Race Blue / Black Roof / Red Interior Options fitted: Sat Nav
  12. Hi Guys, Just thought I would post just coming up to 1.2K miles. Checked my oil levels yesterday, and had to put in 0.5ltr. Hopefully this isn't signs of another oil burning VRS.
