  1. From what I could determine, the original Columbus was beyond repair so I decided to go with an Android replacement. Cost 300 euros. Works well . Has more functionality than original with larger touch screen and incorporates Google Maps. Steering wheel controls and park assist are compatible.
  2. The columbus radio in my 2012 Superb has developed serious problems. Notably thumping noise has been getting increasingly worse in the last 10 days. Today the thumping noise was present for 1 hour journey time. My phone was connected to the car but there is no radio or speakers working other than the thumping noise. One thump per second is the frequency. Removed the radio fuse and it stopped. But car electrics were then fully disabled? Replaced the fuse, radio won't switch on and I expect its only a matter of time before the thumping starts again. Any suggestions or is there a fix? I'm thinking I will need to replace the radio but with what? Someone suggested an Android would be best. I don't need any navigation functionality, I use phone for that. Thanks in advance. Mike C
