Hi Mannyo my RS is fine although I hardly drive it now as I have changed jobs and there is no need for me to drive to work. I am looking at selling the RS in a few months, as my partner is expecting a new addition to the family soon. I may or may not get another car?

Alloy wheel sizes (yet again)
llblake replied to UncleGrandpa's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk I (1996-2004)
I have 235x45x19s on my RS I don't have any issues with front wheels locking up. My only problem is having more than two people in the back which causes problems with bottoming out etc... -
Just want to say hi to everyone I have been away for a while and its nice to see new members as well as the old timers!!!

Sorry to hear about your RS being nicked Andy the ****!!!!. IMHO the only way to get your car back is to fit a tracker system. I must admit that I am very aware of the attention our cars draw and I have taken the neccessary steps to reduce this. Lloyd

You should be OK with 18s I have 19s on mine and they are fine as long as I don't have too many people in the back..

I have a Koni setup on my RS they are OK but there isn't enough adjustment in them. They are either on or off if you know what I mean? With hindsight I would have gone for a KW setup. Lloyd

Hi SkodiRS, Please let us know what you think of the new CAI after this weekend. I would like to know how it performs at top end? There has been talk of the CAI performing well at the lower end of the rev range but there is a measured loss of power at the higher/top end rev range. What bothers me is the kit didn't without some hacking about as mentioned by you. The kit should fit without the need to by or modify bits (or I am expecting too much?) The kit suppiled by IP I assume fits without the need to modify bits? Lloyd P.S does Badger5 have a webiste?

choices, choices, choices which one to go for? ABD CAI from Impossible Perrformance or Dynatwist CAI from Badger5? Lloyd

Try looking at the clip on the turbo hose? I had a similar problem i.e. no power above 3,000rpm. And discovered that the turbo hose clip had worked its why loose. Lloyd

Hi Turbo2, Have you noticed any differences in performance with the 3" downpipe? Lloyd

Hi Des, You haven't seen the damage I can do with a spanner!! Do you have an ETA on when IP will the said item in stock? Lloyd
-
Thanks Jimmy, The dent isn't that big most people don't notice it until I point it out to them. Lloyd

Yea I like the painted bumper stripes I was going to have it done to my RS but decided against it at the time. However, last night I was thinking about having them painted and it looks like you have made my mind up. Lloyd

I have 19's on my RS and I use my car everyday without any problems. Lloyd

Cheers DaveU, I won't have to drill out the grill as this has already be done for the IC on that side. Also how easy is it to fit the kit? Lloyd

Correct SkodiRS I have the KKK (K04) turbo so does this mean I can have the 3" downpipe installed on my RS? Lloyd

Hi, Does anyone know of a good bodyshop or mobile company in the South London area that can fix a small dent I have in one of my fronts wings? Thanks Lloyd

Hi all, Got the following information off the http://www.18turbo.com website: "Downpipes are a direct replacement of the stock downpipe to the catalytic converter. The theory behind a larger downpipe is much like that of a performance exhaust system, better flow. The factory downpipe is quite restrictive, therefore the addition of a larger downpipe will add approximately 8-10HP. Not only will a downpipe increase power output but it will also help the turbo spool up faster. There are two sizes of downpipes available 2.5" and 3". There is much debate over which is better, but it can be assumed that when used with the stock ko3 turbo the 2.5" is great, but for any larger turbos you should use the 3" system for peak performance. Note however that many people have used a 3" downpipe and cat mated to a 2.5" cat-back with excellent gains. It all depends on what your plans are and how deep your wallet is!" Any thoughts on this one also does anyone know where or who does a 3 inch downpipe for the RS? Cheers Lloyd

Hi DaveU, Thanks for the info my main concerns where 1:) loss of power particularly at top end, 2:) the filter getting sodden during the frequent rainy spells we tend to have in the UK. But from your answer these are unfounded so far. All I need to do now is to wait for Des to give me the nod when IP have them in stock. DaveU can you tell me did you have to cut any of the inner sill to fit the system? Also how far does it sit inside the car? The reason for asking this is my RS has a dual IC setup and I belive the cold air system pipe may or maynot go pass the IC pipe work. Cheers Lloyd

I am thinking of changing the standard air filter on my RS to the L.A.N Cold Air Intake systems supplied by Impossible Performance. I know a few of you have had the system for a while and I wanted to know what are the pros/cons you have found with the system? Thanks Lloyd
