Hello I used to have a 2013 Fabia VRS and am thinking of coming back to the Skoda brand with an Octavia VRS 230 via the simpsons deal. How are people getting on with them? Any better deals out there? Thank you Rob

I think the finance rate is important and that is a little high for me. You could recently get a 1 series sport for 249 deposit and 249 a month over 4 years because its low interest. Additionally my Alfa Giulietta isn't much more than that deal and mine is the top spec 1.4 multiair tct, main difference is my apr is 2%. Just my 2p's worth, its a nice car, I'd just get a low rate personal loan instead.

I got £9k for a 2013 plate with 18,000 miles just over a month ago. Reckon £11k is about right.

Hello Just listing my Mk 2 Fabia VRS H&R rear anti roll bar for sale. Was on the car for 12 months so the bar is in good condition, the fittings have a little surface rust due to being on the car but that's about it. Looking for £90 collected from Cheshire/Manchester. Rob

Hello Well I've had the Alfa for two weeks, but only done 250 miles so far due to a few other commitments. Love the look of the car, went for etna black which is a metallic black with a red flick in it, looks good with the titanium wheels and wing mirrors. Will get some pictures up soon. Initially impressions of the interior are overall good, I like the new 6.5 touchscreen sat nav and improved seats and steering wheel, however some parts feel a bit cheap for the price point which is to be expected. Like how it drives, seems very refined and quiet inside and seems to handle well enough for the amount I've pushed it so far. Considering the engine is also a 1.4 it's surprising how different it feels, definitely miss the supercharger to alleviate the lag. It does seem pretty quick though and makes a nice noise but obviously not as quick as the VRS was. The TCT isn't as smooth as the DSG which was to be expected, however this is only really noticeable when crawling, once pushing on it becomes a lot better. It's also a bit weird with the start stop on an automatic, which actually works a lot more frequently than on the wife's 1 series. They've sold my Fabia already, although they did price it well, hopefully who ever has bought it will be on here? Whoever that is got themselves a good one. If anyone is interested in the Giulietta, they do seem very good on a PCP, putting down the same deposit as I did with the VRS its £5 a month cheaper albeit over 48 not 36 months. Rob

Only 3 litres in 17,500 miles. Which is bad for any other car, but very good for a VRS.

I was only suggesting mine which is a good one. Aware of the issues lots have had, but would only suggest mine if I was confident in it. Litre of oil put in at 4,500, 6,500 and 12,500 miles and now on 17,500.

How about buying a 2013 VRS instead for similar money?

There is mine also, 2013 black with 17,000 miles, RARB, Bolero, rear elec windows, bluetooth about to be traded in for considerably less than than red one is up for. Could sort a deal out with the dealer who's buying it or buy it direct.

Buy mine instead. Can guarantee the history and itll save you a few quid on a 2013 plate. Also its pretty loaded with extras.

1.4 Multiair 170bhp QV line, was v tempted by the quadrifoglio verde but the 1.4 is £30 a year to tax, potentially a lot more economical and is cheaper to buy. It won't be Fabia VRS quick but it's quick enough.

Hello Well 3rd time lucky it looks like I'll be moving on from the VRS and into an Alfa Giulietta TCT, I think I might need to check my companies policy about the maximum number of car issue related days off though. Really enjoyed my time with the Fabia, still puts a smile on my face everytime I open it up, however I'm moving on partly because I want something a bit bigger and partly because I love the look of the Alfa. Just wanted to say a massive thank you to all the support I've received on here, the other posters were instrumental to me getting a stonking deal when I first bought the Fabia. It's 3rd time lucky, because I put a deposit down on an almost new Octavia only to be later told the mileage was much higher than they originally thought, then second time I put a deposit down on a pre reg Giulietta only to find out it was import, so cancelled that order. I keep almost leaving, did a deal on a Octavia 1.4 Elegance DSG only for the dealer to phone me back and say the mileage was much higher than originally quoted. Then did a deal on a Giulietta only to find out it was an import and they hadn't told me. Perhaps I'm destined to keep the Fabia........

Good choice of new car, still pondering selling mine for the reasons you've stated.

I'm there now that I'm keeping the Fabia, will add myself on the list proper when I get on my PC. 2013 CTHE, standard engine but in the fastest colour.

Hello Well I was about to leave and go play in the Octavia Mk3 forum, but I cancelled the deal as I can't part with my VRS, feel bad for the dealer messing them around but I'm not giving the car up. It's going to have to be something quite special to tempt me out of the Fabia especially at it's current PX price, which is saying something as I'm a serial car buyer with 7 different cars in the last 8 years. The reason for going for the Octavia was we need a bigger car for trips away etc with the new bigger family, but I'm just going to buy a roof box for the wife's 1 series instead. Only disappointment is that I'm going to miss out on the some of the new tech which the Octavia would have had, so might treat myself to one of the new Sony/Pioneer head units with mirror link. Rob

Hi Trading my Fabia VRS in on Friday, however if anyone wants to buy it in the meantime I'll take £9,500 no offers. It's a 13 plate with 16,500 miles on it, full service history with a service pack on it for the next two services. Car is black with silver wheels, bluetooth, rear elec windows and climate. Rob
