  1. It's got such a low mileage it'll be worth it, especially from a dealer. either get some more money together or look for a cheaper one with more miles. Dont be put off by mileage either as long as the clutch feels good and the turbo isnt making any strange noises it'll be fine. Mine was on 135k when i sold it and it felt awesome to drive even with knocky drop links needing done. Was the water pump done with the cam belt? important if it hasn't! they like to fail without warning.
  2. Haha do it... balls to the misses. Luckily my misses is more excited about it than more. More of a "we've been running 2 expensive cars" cheers!
  3. I'm pretty sure its the only one in Dorset on the road I've never seen one anyway. cheers! I've been tempted into a zetec engine conversion but I'm not sure, I kinda like the charm of the CVH.
  4. Dont like it or approve. looks broken or dropped from a great hight.
  5. So after selling the Fabia for its own good since i wasnt using it I got myself something right at the other end of the scale. half restored XR3i. everything has been replaced, repainted and in some cases made better. only thing left for me to do is sort out the niggles like some of the interior parts, electrics and a new clutch which is a piece of **** in these. no decent pictures as of yet since I'm so busy with work. Running 2 expensive cars is going to be...expensive.
  6. He used to be a member and he used to have a vRS but it was written off a while back and wanted another one. He was such a great bloke too knew everything about it which is great as i've had some proper tire kickers and people that didnt even drive the thing coming to offer me stupid offers. just goes to show you need patience. cheers!
  7. sold to a top bloke and got what i wanted glad its going to an owner who knows his stuff! patience paid off.
  8. I've used plastidip a fair few times on my own and other peoples cars. Got to say i wouldnt use it on wheels. they'll peek and chip far to easly and every day use. It's only been done by plastidip to show how strong it is.
  9. I'd say it handles ok but not amazing. It can still do corners fast though I've had some good fun on B and A roads.
  10. You've done the fly and clutch already then when you do the turbo its practicaly a zero risk car! You won't get your money back by selling and may risk it all over again buying another car.
  11. Not ideal :( we all know it'll come to us one way or another, its just a case of when! What's your mileage out of interest? good luck getting it sorted.(always a good excuse to get a bigger turbo!)
  12. Book price is for tradesmen. Prices adjust for them to make a profit on which are what those companys account for. Thanks but no thanks.
  13. If you smash on the power under 1900rpm even at standard it'll start to take its toll on the clutch. it goes from pretty much nothing to full power and torq in one big lump before 1900rpm
  14. I hate every other ****er on the road right now. Just started driving coaches and the amount of times i get cut up, overtaken and cut up, made to slow and and change down the box (which is effort) ect ect ect. I tell you what, My Christian motorist days are over
  15. What you've done is brought up a boy racers heap which no one will touch so the price is low (i've looked at that one before) and another one which has virtually no description with crap body work condition and no mention of the important parts such as the timing belt or water pump. Its not even clean with rubbish pictures. I know what mine is worth and i obviously know I wont get £2500. I'd like that but thats not how the trade works. I'm in no rush to get rid of it and someone will come along at the right time to buy it. If you want to play that game by the way try a wider search. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201306117230291/sort/default/usedcars/fuel-type/diesel/price-to/3000/engine-size-cars/1-7l_to_1-9l/price-from/2000/model/fabia/make/skoda/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/postcode/dt101bd/page/2/radius/100?logcode=p http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201309289007987/sort/default/usedcars/fuel-type/diesel/price-to/3000/engine-size-cars/1-7l_to_1-9l/price-from/2000/model/fabia/make/skoda/onesearchad/used/onesearchad/nearlynew/onesearchad/new/postcode/dt101bd/page/2/radius/100?logcode=p
  16. If you mean trade price its 1500 to a garage. They go on autotrader for about 3k in the same condition, age and milage as mine.
  17. Its been on piston heads and no one was interested. Ebay was full f time wasters offering me the likes of 1500, probably trades men and I've had no response off auto trader, been on for a week now. guess its the wrong time of year now. I'm in no massive rush to sell it but i would like to get the XR3i on the road before winter so i can make sure it ok for the summer. dont want to work on it in the winter.
  18. great time to start my new job as a bus driver then...
