  1. So d-day has arrived! Final bits and and pieces are here so watch this space!!!
  2. Hahaha Dan!!!! The wheels aren't staying pink!!! lol I've tried to be involved in as much of it as I can be but I will admit I have needed pointing in the right direction a few times haha. Providing the remaining parts arrive when they're supposed to... she should be finished and back on the road this weekend
  3. Thank u Annoyingly headlights still haven't arrived even though I was given delivery dates of Thursday or Friday of last week. Hoping they arrive tomorrow! Gave both front seats a clean up today as both were really looking mankey but look much better now. Sadly can't really get anything else done until the rest of the parts turn up. Fingers crossed for the next few days
  4. Haha it has been suggested a few times but I have other plans lol. Thank u the fg bumper is growing on me I have to admit. The puma is my o/h's 2nd car so I've been driving it since my crash but am desperately missing my fab!
  5. Haha As much as I do love the fantasy green front bumper the rest of the car will NOT BE going that colour lol. A colour change is potentially on the cards but not to that...
  6. Haha it's certainly gona stay that colour for a little while lol I just can't wait to have her back on the road again. Looking at getting the whole car sprayed in the near future but just need her usable again for now lol.
  7. Me too Charlie!! I'm so impressed by how uniform the fabs are when it comes to fitting replacement panels and the like. Wing is now fitted Which means the front bumper is now fitted along with headlight washers, colour coded covers, grill and fogs. Now this is the 1 part of the car that certainly isn't as it was before... this bit has got a certain Bossfox look about it... Haha!!! Now i am just waiting for vinyl for the new grill to arrive and getting really impatient waiting for my headlights!!! Other than that, she is almost there!!!! :D
  8. I should have a working fab again by then so may well pop down to see everyone. Depending on funds at the time, I might run the fab again (just to check she's still got it haha) I'll have a little ask around my way too and see if anyone's interested and will let you know Rob.
  9. Right things are all moving quite a bit quicker now! Rad pack and crash bar are all fitted and plumbed in which meant we have actually been able to get her running again (didn't realised how much I'd missed the sound of a clattery VAG diesel!! (Yes the rad was actually fitted before she was started up lol) Fog lights have been sorted and tinted too ready to go in the new bumper Then to top things off my new wing has arrived today And then my lovely new Depo headlights have been marked as shipped too! I will post an update tomorrow as to how much is fitted this evening
  10. Haha Tom that was fitted Tuesday night also picked up and fitted a new bonnet that evening too. I'm not really surprised mine was smashed looking at where it sits so am very grateful for yours! This evening Karl (my other half) and I collected a bumper and rad pack from BossFox so now we have removed the old crash bar and rad pack ready to fit the new ones soon. Am in the process of sourcing a new wing and headlights but things are certainly coming together This is how we've left her this evening...
  11. Ah thanks Charlie, have just got one but thank u anyway Removed the wing last week and was pleasantly surprised by how straight the car is underneath so that was certainly a positive. Also learnt that there was once an air duct that also sat with the intercooler... mine was obliterated in the crash so never knew about it! :( lol also have a new one of those along with a new map sensor as that was also smashed lol. Intercooler is now fitted and am in the process of sorting out a new bumper and rad pack courtesy of Mr Fox lol Finally making some progress at last!!! Hopefully I'll be able to give you some more regular updates now too
  12. Just replacing the sidemount for now as desperately want the car back. Had another fight with insurance company this morning over settlement fingers, just want my car back :(
  13. Right finally I've managed to make some progress and have started dismantling... Started by taking the grill slam panel and bumper off and remaining headlight out Could then get a better look at the damage behind the headlight This had also pushed the fuel regulator back and at a funny angle. As you can see the intercooler has a rather large hole around the top pipe (hence no boost) and this has also damaged the connection between the 1st two boost pipes. Anyway, then removed the intercooler and 1st boost pipe. Next job is to remove the crash bar and rad pack (but didn't think it was a good idea starting that at 11 o'clock at night) Here's how she's sat at the moment
  14. Wow! That looks a bit more painful than mine! Yeah luckily no damage to chassis, just panels and surround structures. As you can see, slam panel is rather bent along with rad and the intercooler (thankfully just standard sidemount) is rather smashed too. Bossfox, second opinion should be with me by beginning of next week and will then be forwarded straight onto Admiral. Once they're received this it should then just be a case of agreeing a figure and then getting my payout. I will be having those parts off you! Promise!
  15. Project thread is now started Will do my best to keep that updated as and when I get things done. Still waiting on payout from insurance company so haven't managed to get anything done yet other than tuck her away in the workshop.
  16. I am hoping to still come and show my face but sadly I won't be in my fab :( I don't see her being back on the road for a few months or so yet but would still be great to come along and meet you guys
  17. As most of you probably know by now, my fab was written off at the beginning of March in a head on collision (not my fault) with a Peugeot 207. The Peugeot lost but sadly I'm still left with the task of repairing/rebuilding my fab. I have a few plans in mind and have had for a while now so I shall be using this as an excuse to do them! I'll start with a few pics of the car as she is now. We've got her back from the body shop that did the damage assessment and she's now locked away in our workshop just waiting for money to come through from the insurance company before I can then get cracking I know a few people were interested to see how I get on so here you go! This was her before hand This is her now
  18. Potentially Also could be a change of colour on the cards too hehehehehe Peugeot was most definately worse off! My car made it home under her own power. Peugeot wouldn't even move to the side of the road by itself, had to be pushed lol. Instant right off without even a valuation I reckon. Yeah I've been having a little search around for bits and pieces this week and parts aren't looking too expensive so feeling a lot more possitive about it all now Glad to hear someone else has managed a similar job themselves too. If only Tcut would!!! She'd be back hunting down the Peugeot driver before we knew it lol BossFox, you are a lifesaver! I'm almost 99.999999% certain I'll be having those off you in the near future I can also now add that my Skud is home again! Haven't had a chance to look at her properly in the daylight yet but as soon as I do, I'll start taking some clearer photos and start a project thread for you all. I really am pleasantly surprised by how many people have been upset to hear about my car and how helpful everyone is being! Thank you
  19. I was driving down a country lane and came to a 90degree left hand bend. As I entered the corner a Peugeot 207 appeared coming in the opposite directing on my side of the road. This section of tarmac is not the width of a standard road, however it is wide enough for a Peugeot 207 and Fabia vRS to pass each other without incident. Anyway, as soon as I saw the Peugeot I braked to try and stop (was doing around 20mph) and also sounded the horn as I knew the young girl driving hadn't seen me (pretty sure she wasn't looking where she was going, but can't remember where she was looking instead). The girl has then spotted me, swerved away but still caught my car, drivers side to drivers side. To make it worse for me there was no where for me to go as the inside of this bend is a grass verge that goes almost vertical up into a field. This meant I ended up basically being a sitting duck for her to hit :( What's even more annoying is that I drive this road 4 times each day and have been for the past 2 or so years without a problem. I've passed many cars, buses, lorries, tractors and even horse boxes without any issues yet have a collision with a little Peugeot which is enough to write my car off :(
  20. Yeah that's what I'm thinking Hutchysrs50 She shouldn't be too difficult, just a case of stripping broken bits off and re-attaching new ones! (she says!) Will start a project thread once she's home and i can make a proper start on things.
  21. I will be lol Insurance company are making rather a lot of mistakes and errors so am also in the process of involving ABI & Ombusman too.
  22. As some of you may know, sadly my fabia vrs was driven into by a Peugeot 207 last Thursday morning on a country lane. Sadly insurance company have decided she's a total loss :( However, I am buying her back and repairing her myself (with help! lol) Luckily there is no chassis damage but I have lost the driver's side wing, arch liner, headlight (factory Xenon!) bonnet, bumper, grill and potentially intercooler too. watch this space! She will return!!!
  23. Sadly that's me out too. Shame as looks great but just can't warrant that much.
  24. Thank u! We'll give that ago this evening and let you know if we have any luck!
