  1. Excellent. That has reassured me. I was all set for marching back down to the dealers and going off in one. Thank you.
  2. Hi all, Hoping for some advice please. I've got a 2012 diesel vrs. 11k miles. I've just driven home from work, 20 miles, all motorway at 70 mph. It was raining the whole time. When I pulled up outside my house I turned the radio off , then the ignition. At this point the external fan came on and the radio came back on and started searching for traffic channels. The fan stayed on for a few minutes and when I sat back in the car there was a faint smell of burning rubber. Are there any common faults for this type of thing or any ideas please on what it could signal? Thanks guys. Les.
  3. Cheers. The video looks good so think ill go for that one, only picked the nilfisk up today and won't get chance to use it until the weekend due to work and training. I've taken the same approach with drying mine. Got to do the wife's car this weekend and its bogging. Got some clay now too so I can do a proper job.
  4. In for a penny in for a pound. Let me know how you get on with it.
  5. I agree, it's the lorry in the background that really sets it off! Lol.
  6. Hi all, After much deliberation i have plumped for a Nisflik c110 xtra pressure washer which i pick up in the morning from screfix. It comes with a foam bottle which I intend to use in the interim, until payday when I can treat myself to a snow lance. Therefore I was wondering if some of you could please let me have your thoughts on the best snowlance and snow foam for my washer? I use autoglym high def wax so I believe I need a ph neutral snow foam? Any comments are appreciated. Cheers. Les.
  7. Hi chaps, Just a couple of pics of my car after a wash and wax, following advice on here. Used AG shampoo and high definition wax. Go some clay bar on order as the front bumper and bonnet could do with it so will do that in the next couple of weeks as I'm hoping to have a pressure washer and foam lance by then, if the misses allows it! Also attached is a picture of my other toy which I took whilst the garage was open. I think this looks better dirty though. Cheers.
  8. Thank you for all the replies. I think I'll go with that pressure washer and buy a separate snow lance. Maybe the one mentioned on this post or an auto bright. However, before I'm going to buy it ill check out splott market tomorrow morning as there is always loads of people flogging various washers. Some good, some useless, but there may be a bargain to be had. This car cleaning malarkey is addictive!
  9. Sounds good. Did yours come with the foamer that foes with this as standard? If so, was it any good? Cheers.
  10. If it makes you feel any better i just spent £125 on various cleaning bits and bobs. My car looks very nice now but I'd like to be able to snow foam it next time as well as my wife's car too.
  11. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/7420188.htm Hi chaps, Thinking of getting a pressure washer in order to help snow foam and clean my vrs octavia. I was wondering if any of you have used one of these? It's a Nilfisk C110.3-5 AUTO 1400W. It says that it comes with a click and clean foamer nozzle with a detergent bottle but not sure of this will suffice. Cheers. Les.
  12. Firstly, happy new year. Thought I'd update you with how I got on. I ordered the AG shampoo & conditioner, high def cleanser and high def wax. I didn't use the clay as I was fairly happy with how the paint felt, but intend to use it as and when required in the future. Also bought a micro fibre mitt and drying towel. Got most of it from Victoria Autos on ebay which was much cheaper than Halfords. Used it all today in the garage and am very happy. Pulled the car out of the garage to have a nose once it was complete and was very very pleased. It looked like its coated in glass. I'll take some pics in the morning in some light. One question I have is how often should I give it a full clean, eg use cleanser and wax? Is iit ok to wash it every weekend and give it a once over with all the products every couple of months. Thanks. Les.
  13. Wow, thanks for that. I think I've decided to go for the high def wax, AG shampoo & conditioner, a microfibres mitt and towel and the wheel cleaners. Do you think I could do without the high def cleanser for a month or so as I my wife will go mental if I spend a load on polishing gear on top of the car.
  14. In regards to the difference between the scooby and the octavia The octavia is far more comfortable, feels much better build quality and more practical. With a scooby you basically pay for the engine. The Leon was a great car, the octavia is just a little more practical as I have 2 kids which I'd didn't have when I had the Leon. Collecting it on Monday. Already ordered an autoglym valet set to sort it out and get it nice and protected and super shiney. Can't wait to leave it in the work car park and see what the boys think.
  15. Thank you. Gtechniq I1 looks like the one. I see you also have candy white. Any recommendations on paint protection and polishers etc? Thanks. Les.
