  1. decided to start the black conversion and find out where the mould was coming from,well i found it........ bulkhead heaterbox seal fixed that then on with the strip and dye how it looked back in 2014 when i first got it this is where i am today
  2. the nice weather got me in the mood for a little drive of this,turns out the winter sitting turned it in to a bit of a pos.. full of mould drives like a shed and seems to make some odd noises decided to start part hoarding for a late summer fix up every nut bolt and bush style rebuild. managed to get hold of a 99.9% mint wheel had a play around with some interior paint so far its looking a pretty good route to go ran a compression test did it cold all came in 145-150 not sure if thats within spec they were all close though
  3. no changes to the car done maybe 100miles since last post but, mot passed! car still has its 100% pass rate
  4. 7hr clean and polish yesterday came out mega pictures are pretty junk i was cheesed off by this point needs new wheels these are too small now

    my brother keeps spinning that line just have a hard time believing it think its worth a punt wanted one for a while was the insurance that stopped me but that seems to be ok these days. you running poly? think ill make my move in the next month or so before winter tax

    main one ive heard about is the driveshafts and some dodgy bushes,neither of those are a real concern for me. The e36 is getting a bit much to daily after 12hr shifts fancy giving the luxury life a go im still a bit unsure if i want another auto though soarer auto just bores me to death even with a 1jz in it ,hows the manual mode on it?

  9. year has gone by since this has even moved! decided it was time to get it going again just needed mot prep and interior putting back together lights finally working after the mad rewire bought this repeater last may changed it at last paint has taken a hammering some how looking to mot in the next month spray it white and then probably sell it
  10. few dodgy moments with this since last update,been dailying this since my junk mk5 astra realised it was a vauxhall and stopped working... its not really working as a daily drive so its time for semi retirement and refresh, quite fancy a x5 in the meantime coil over some how ripped apart then 1 year to the day of my soarers alternator failing this happened,was quite a cheap fix in the end just a new brush pack needed. then the thermostat housing decided to break upgraded to a metal housing standard mid section back on i hate it so sport cat is in the pipeline and now this
  11. headlights stopped working and the suspension started making some pretty terrible banging sounds so its sat for a month or so yesterday i got a chance to fix headlights and get the new coilovers on hids died back on the standard yellow rubbish at least its legal now new ones are nothing special but they ride so much better and slightly better build quality set a bit high and some late snow pics i keep having this recurring dream where i kill the soarer and 1j the e36
  12. after a little incident with exploding diffs ive decided to go back to a more dailyable car. in the pipeline is new coilovers,quieter exhaust,standard steering wheel,fill the massive hole in the dash and run the standard 328 diff for now the car lost its speedo and was banging and clunking so i assumed the welded diff had broken,opened up the case to inspect it and was greeted with this !a fairly non welded diff it was only tacked in one corner yet some how lasted 4yrs and a drift day. had to do something with this aiming for the stock look
  13. well then something unexpected happened and i now own my first and best 328 again!! more pics when its motd and hits the roads as the new daily

  15. its abit hard to remember what happened and how it happened few bits of what i can remember. first thing i needed to sort after repairing the wiring and busted alternator was the interior.It was a mass of no more nails and cracked plastic who ever installed the after market audio in the car had some issues. i managed to find a mint soarer breaking nabbed the doorcards window trims and a fully working heater panel! nice new and minty completely different car new heater panel and radio cage on to engine new everything ac deleted v6 audi belt slipped straight on after i then saw a picture of a 1j with twin filters and became obsessed with that idea. no kit seemed to exist so i made my own which took a lot more time and effort than i had imagined but dam it looks and sounds dam awesome,fitted a fmic the same time. had to make an adapter for the front turbo day1 day now
  16. haven't actually driven this since it broke down it sat untouched for most of the summer been busy the last few weekends and made some good progress! just one pic for now ill updated this properly soon
  17. trusty kode wheel making its way in to its 4th car sorted out what was left of the radio loom and got this working,its just resting for now till my cage and trim arrive from murica ripped this piece of crap out took it out in the rain for the first time balding jinyu 215s on the rear are good fun i had the lights wipers radio heaters on and all that killed off the alternator 90miles from home. i made it 75miles on the battery before the inevitable happened,2hrs later rac loaned me a battery to get home started stripping to get the alternator off,all bumper bolts and clips
  18. 2 days after i bought it i took it out for a run came back tried to start it and it wouldn't even turn over and was making a quiet beeping sound,it had 3 different leds around the dash and switches. i assumed it had an after market immobliser fitted so i decided to take the battery off what a bad move that was! the loudest alarm ive ever heard kicked in reminded me of hammonds bmw in the e30 episode. i found the gash harness ripped the earth and live and it fired right up took me under 5 mins to defeat it and im no car thief after doing that i lost door locks boot release and the car thought the door was open when the head lights were on. set about removing it all and found a true horror story! wires literally twisted and taped into everything

  21. been 2 years since my last ancient rwd turbo car so i figured it was time for another financial mistake. always liked the soarer and the 1jz has been on my engines to own tick list for ages now so when this came up under 100miles away and for less than 3k had to place a bid! its been wired by a blind man and already left me stranded but its dam fun even on stock boost. its a 1991 imported 1jz-gte slushbox fuel consumption is yes it uses lots,dash is whacky too
  22. air filter doesn't sound to bad probably sounds a lot better on the move? wish it was as easy to fit one to the previous 20d generation. surprised no one has put no point on a diesel yet
