  1. Wounded an alloy this morning VEEY Icy conditions slid int a kerb Grrrr straight up to painters says it should be no bother to fix. just so i can make sure he doesn't paint it the wrong black does anyone know the right black?
  2. . I agree on the overall package of the BL. And also that the FR was harsher on the ride but I think that's the point of that car, it's more focused and not a general all rounder which i think the BL is. I raised this whole point as I found the BL twitchy near the limit, enough for me to be nervous. Im not sure of the technical components differences between the 2 but I presume there are a few even though they share the same basic structure. Something is very different though. Don't get me wrong though I love the BL, I'm just curious as to why there is so much difference and I don't think it's related to much to weight or engine. Something in the rear is different
  3. . I think the package is important. I had the petrol FR, makes it a very different car, I also had the Diesel FRengine prior and it didn't have the same sharpness as the petrol. I agree that the BL is a more relaxed smother drive but its nowhere near the same dynamics as the petrol FR. Which begs the question. How close are the petrol FR and the petrol VRS?
  4. thanks guys i will have a look around these areas. Where does the drain from the sunroof come down? She has the panoramic roof
  5. My wife's noticed a damp smell in the Yeti last week, picked up the carpet to find it was soaking. She had had the car back from the garage after having a accelerator pedal replaced (excessive vibration) so I thought they might have missed out a grommet or something. The car was returned stating that no fault was found. Any ideas? Has anyone had this before?
  6. After a month in Its been interesting owning the Blackline. I was on a single track road yesterday, very twisty. This is the first time I have really tested the cars handling and dynamics. The car was not as assured as I thought it would be and nowhere near my Leon FR which was a truly fantastically balanced car. Should i compair? Well both are on the same platform so hear are my thoughts Leon gave more feedback to the wheel. BL was a tad twitchy, both grip well and in the correct gear and speed both avoid understear. When pushed the FR had great balance and Amos 50/50 so easy to control past the limit. BL not as assured on the limit. The FR reminded me on my 205 1.9 GTI. It was to good. Now the BL is carrying more weight on the nose and is a much bigger car and I write this without picking a winner but more of my observation on he dynamics of the cars. In short they are VERY different on the road. The FR is by far the better regarding handling and dynamics the BL is a more relaxed drive and I love the thing to bits :-)
  7. ONe of my rear parking sensors seems to be faulty, its registering an object and close quarters when nothing is there. Any ideas or back to the shop?
  8. Can we clear up a point on insurance and window tints. I haver NEVER heard of his before. I have had many car either previous tinted or from the factory tinted and this has never been questioned before. JB-) states that £200 extra was added to his premium!! That is a huge cost. My insurance for my Blackline is £325 all in. So who else has come across this?
  9. Didn't realise it effected insurance !! So in a smash if you haven't informed them you might be stuffed?
  10. Anyone retro fitted? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-seats-heated-seat-seat-heater-fits-VW-Golf-6-Sagitar-car-cushion-seat-cover-/180949066256?pt=UK_Car_Interior_Accessories&hash=item2a2167a210&_uhb=1
  11. Heated seat and it would be very close to perfect spec for me. I've had all the other toys and the only one I really mis from previous cars is keyless entry. Can a TV tunner be fitted to the head unit??
  12. This is not correct at all, dealers get huge discounts for demos as they are used as company cars however they are locked into a deal where they must make them available for test drives in return. If they sell them and get caught they risk having a fine from the supplier, in this case Skoda. Trick of the trade is to sell it early and not transfer it until the 3 months are up.
  13. Took my Blackline out for a spin today (50 mile trip) averaged 61mpg! Never expected that at all. Didn't boot it but really go to easy
