  1. Yes you're right if you're talking long haulage miles. Diesels that do mostly short trips have always had reliability problems. Our trucks that do interstate linehaul are always running like clockwork but our short haul local trucks often have issues. But here we're talking about the whole vehicle, not just the engine. The 2 Toyotas I've owned have both had reliability issues. The Mitsubishi I owned also had a minor reliability issue at the main seal.
  2. I have a 2012 tdi 4x4 and have never had an issue. It regularly drives Melbourne to Sydney and Sydney to Melbourne. Has never burnt a drop of oil or anything. 65000kms on the clock now.
  3. I think you're mistaken. This was driven be Mark Skaife and Jim Richards. Jim Richards is still with us and is usually still seen on or near the podium in whatever he's racing. Have a look at the first link I posted I this thread.
  4. It would make complete sense if you were Aussie or just knew a little bit if the history of Australian touring car racing.
  5. The history: http://www.speedhunters.com/2013/02/godzilla-attacks-the-gibson-group-a-gt-r/
  6. For those who have no idea about this car http://m.drive.com.au/motor-news/milestones-jim-richards-says-what-he-really-thinks-20140722-zvjhr.html
  7. I rather not muck with the reliability and warranty of the vehicle.
  8. Haha seriously though, it's illegal to use fog lights here unless there is fog so I won't even drive with them on for laughs. Although some ******s still do because they think lighting their car up like a UFO is cool.
  9. I'd like to know if anyone has personally had any issue using the fog lights. I think I might only ever get to use them once or twice while owning my Yeti. Don't exactly see much fog where I am.
  10. I mainly agree with your original point but there's some errors in your post. I bought my Australian delivered Yeti a few weeks ago and have seen options available to us Aussies. -We get the same trims as the rest of the world. You just have to option them. -The Stop/Start engine system is an option here. - There's plenty soft touch plastics. Much more in the details like the interior door latches that are chrome on the outside and soft rubber in the inside. Go check out an Outlander. Now they're full of hard plastics. - HID is an option. You want em,option them. - The Urban edition was available here. I was negotiating having the Urban 17's instead of the regular 17's. - Most owners here unless they're young and stupid prefer the ride of the 16's on our crappy under-maintained roads. Although the 16's don't look right so maybe there is some need for suspension revision. Personally as an Australian option I would like to have the puncture repair kit as an option as the standard full size spare makes it hard to take full advantage of the boot and vario-flex seating.
  11. Ok so my post actually said a lot more than that but it won't publish for some reason.
  12. So is this a wish list for more options and standards on UK Yeti's or an overall wish list for the face lifted Yeti
  13. I've found another 'dash rattle' source, well my dealer did. After a day or 2 of ownership I got an annoying rattle coming from around the gear stick area. It was almost completely constant. I had the chance to take it to my dealer today where the service manager diagnosed it and fixed it himself in about 10 minutes. He said it was coming from the exhaust flange underneath the car. He simply threw it up on the hoist unbolted it and bolted all back up again. Dash rattle gone. Yeti completely quiet inside now.
  14. Hi all, Name's Adam, I'm from Melbourne, Australia. I just bought my first Skoda a week ago and have been watching this forum for the last few weeks. It's been a very useful tool. I bought a black Yeti with the 103TDI (shame you can't get the more powerful diesel over here). I'm really loving it. The Skoda dealership has been great. So much better than dealing with Toyota or Holden dealerships. Cheers.
