Yeah, I'm now convinced more than ever that it was dodgy fuel. It now sounds as though the pump is trying to shift out the old fuel/crap. I'm going to Manchester on Saturday which is a 350 mile round trip from my house so I'm gonna fill it up with Shell Nitro+ and stick a bottle of redex in with it unless anybody can recommend any other fuel system cleaner that is better than redex?

It does it all the time, but just to update, since last week I have used the fuel that was given to me and put in my car by dad, that has now all been burnt off and yesterday I put some shell nitro+ diesel in the car and the pump has become significantly quieter. I'm convinced that the fuel put in my car was dodgy/crap and thus upset the pump. I found out that the fuel he put in there had been sat in his outside shed for 3 months which makes me wonder if there was water/moisture in the fuel???

I'm thinking it's slowly coming towards the end of its life. I think I'm gonna have to replace it at some point because my old Fabia vrs that my Mrs has got doesn't do this and it's the same age and it's clocked 160k. Something definitely isn't right, I'm sure of it.

Hi, It's looking like I might have to replace my fuel pump in the coming days as it's making a unusual buzzing/high pitch noise that I've not experienced before and it's driving me nuts. Anybody else experienced this? Been looking at replacement pumps and the other question I've got is does it matter if the part number makes a major difference as I've seen two different part numbers for the vrs. The first one is 6Q0-919-050 and the other is 6Q0-919-050A. From what I've been able to find out, one was put in the cars from when production of this model began until 2004 and the latter was put in the car from 2005 until production finished. Can anybody else confirm or shed any light on it? Thanks in advance.

Hi all, I'm planning on fitting a non airbag leather interior into my mk1 Fabia VRS on Saturday. My only issue is that the interior I'm removing has airbags in the seats which will obviously bring a light on permenantly when I turn ignition back on. I'm aware I have two options to solve this issue: 1. Buy and fit fused resistors, but I don't know what rating resistors I need. 2. Alter the file on the ECU using VCDS but I don't have VCDS and I don't know anyone who has who lives close to me. If anyone could help I would really appreciate it. I'm based in North Somerset but willing to travel a reasonable distance to sort it needs be. Thanks in advance.

Look Matthew, the car was viewed before it was purchased but Mark drove the car on the test drive so the person who purchased the car did not get the chance to test everything on the car was working and so you have proved one of my points because you assumed the car hadn't been viewed or driven before being purchased. As for scammers I think Mark would know if the buyer was a scammer/genuine or not. To suggest someone might be a scammer is simply scaremongering. I'm sure if Mark had any concerns he would have already asked in regards to that which he hasn't. Unless you have anything else regarding helping to get the issue in the title of this thread sorted then please see your way out, your other comments are not wanted or needed :-)

I'm not going to get into a war of words with people on here but to suggest someone is out to con another person is being very presumptuous and quite rude as well as unnecessary. Mark has asked for help and advice so unless it's help or advice you're offering then please keep your assuming and condescending comments to yourself. After speaking with Mark in person, he is a genuine and honest person and it's refreshing to come across such a person this day in age as clearly a lot of people like to just dump and run. It is also being assumed that the person who bought the car actually drove the car before they purchased said car.

Hi everyone, new to here, currently own a Nissan Primera GT but looking for a Octavia vRS. My old man has a 10 plate Octavia vRS and a 54 plate Fabia vRS so am desperate to own a Octavia more so as I've driven his a love the drive. Can't fault the car in any way.
