  1. Got it off, pulled the connectors off the back and took the speedo cable from the gearbox so I could get it on nicely my end and success! (So far) hoping nothing stops it again. I have lights indicators and a speedo Thanks guys! as for the troublesome wire with the indicators, I'm going to leave it be until it causes another issue. So far it's fine. I tried to upload a pic before the cover went back on the steering column but apparently the files too big, will try again once I'm in a pc incase anyone can spot an obvious problem.
  2. I don't know what Wire it is, there's a connector where I assume someone has spotlights connected. I t blew a fuse last time so I've avoided playing with it as its okay when left and In prioritising the speedo. Due to my little hands, I can pop it back in the back by putting my hands up the steering column and around the back. For some reason I can't pull the dash out far enough to do this any other way. (Still waiting for the Manual to arrive)
  3. SUCCESS (ish) Indicators are a loose wire on the stalk. Not sure exactly which one but slight play fixes it and unless I move things around it seems to stay okay for now. The only problem being, when I accessed the back if the hazard switch I pulled something too hard and popped off the speedo cable. After pushing it back on I have no working speedo..
  4. I got a new terminal block from a scrap yard yesterday, just did the swap and that was a success. And I'm about to tackle the hazard switch and indicators. Replacing the relay I was suspicious of did not help..
  5. Not yet, that's next on my list after I change the relay. To access the hazard switch am I right in thinking there are 5 screws around the dash area then it pulls out? The problem is now consistent so shouldn't be so confusing. I believe the clip was already broken as it was the easiest to remove.
  6. here's another, 1.6. V reg, 99600 miles roughly.. needs some love and a kick up the backside. I've done about 8000 miles since January I think. only mods are a nice block of speakers shoved behind the front seats under the bottom fold of the rear seats, and a nice chunk of new metal in the back by the tail gate so I cant see or hear the road anymore oh and a truckman- yellow one with windows.
  7. right. I've replaced the fuse board. I have indicators with the ignition on - functioning correctly but the first click is slightly longer than a normal one and then they continue at regular intervals. when the engine is running I have solid lights on the correct sides now but no flash. I've replaced relays 7 & 8 and I believe 5 is for the fuel pump that was coming on when it shouldn't. if I pull it out as the engine is running the indicators flash just before the engine cuts out due to insufficient fuel. I'm going to replace that tomorrow and see if I get any further. my main problem should then be a terminal along the top of the fuseboard, that I have found to be damaged. The top were there is effectively a small clip has broken away. so the terminal doesn't stay clipped in, meaning that without wedging it I have no wipers or lights (not good when you were about to drive home at 11 pm) that's currently holding but not an ideal solution. (its the green terminal on the left side, cant be more specific at this moment as its dark and the cars outside) I was wandering if anyone knew what the best way to acquire one would be (I'm assuming scrappy or breaker but thought I would ask in case someone already knew a source)
  8. Looks like it probably the fuse board. I can't find and visible signs of water and haven't Noticed any problems with the window seal. But the fuel pump makes a noise when the hazards are on with the ignition on.
  9. Thanks adurer No idea what caused the head gasket to fail, the oil was apparently getting into the cylinder. I thought I solved the symptoms of juddering by replacing ignition leads and plugs ect but after a week oil was getting to the plugs. A local garage suggested scrapping the fun and couldn't tell me any more (I won't be returning there)
  10. I don't know what caused it. If I did then I could resolve the issue. To be honest I'm not gonna bother elaborating, I'll just wait until I have the car back, play around and sort it myself. Thanks to some of you for your help, I will investigate the thinks mentioned that I may have overlooked.
  11. This is not a false issue and no wires have been swapped. Near was not specific Blatantly not impossible because its happening.
  12. It started after the head went but that's the only thing that's happened.. Didn't notice any moisture in the fuses when I checked them. And I've checked the earths in the engine bay, where can I find the others? And they flash normally but on the wrong side. Not always both the same size from what I can remember. (The engine is being out back together at the moment so I'm unable to verify)
  13. So my fun indicates different ways to what I'm asking of it. I thought it would be a simple earthing problem, but I found two at the front and had a look and a clean but all seemed fine. Fuses are fine too. And the thing that puzzles me, which I'm sure someone here can probably explain- the indicators all work fine when the ignition is on but not running. It's only when the cars running that there's a problem. Oh and all the bulbs are fine. Would be great to know if this has been a problem for anyone else or could suggest a solution.. Thanks
