  1. Have you got the aerial still? Just the bit that screws into the roof? Thanks.
  2. I have not. :( I'm not aware you can get blank ones though making this whole operation a waste of time. Bummer. Thank you for your help.
  3. So, I've hit a brick wall in relation to updating Navigation. In brief, I work at a Skoda dealer and we often buy used cars from SUK as ex management or ex fleet cars. Sometimes, they'd arrive without Nav cards and we'd chase them for payment and order new ones. Until yesterday...., they've now linked to download for the Nav data which I've downloaded, unpacked and placed on an SD card. No cars I have on site will read the data. Is the data normally locked to a chassis number? and, if it is, is there a way to find it in the stored data and edit it for other cars? I know when a customer downloads an update from the online portal they have to put a chassis number in but this wasn't the case with the download given to us by SUK. Any ideas would be super.
  4. On a beach in Kefalonia. (perhaps not how it's spelt/spelled). That was 9 years ago and we're still not married.
  5. Quick question. Have any of you received any 'dash for cash' vouchers from December yet? From my understanding, we should have had them by the end of January?
  6. That's good service. If a dealer is willing to order a back ordered part without first diagnosing the fault it must be a known issue. I'll keep an eye on mine.
  7. Ah ok. Perhaps I mis-understood the cover provided then. Have you managed to get anything sorted yet?
  8. Sounds concerning. When the AA came had you called 'Skoda Emergency Services' or just plain old AA? My understanding is that whilst the car is in warranty, a quick call to Skoda Emergency Services would have a Skoda trained tech on their way to you with a fix. If they're unable to fix the car at the roadside, they arrange a recovery truck to collect the car and arrange to get you to a hire car spot or have a hie car brought to you. This may be incorrect but it is the BMW way and the service provider Mondial/Allianz is the same as BMW.
  9. Hello, i'm considering applying for a job at Alex Lawrie and just wondered what peoples general experiences or comments were. It is a service advisor role which is a pants job at the best of times but it's what i know. Any feedback about the site, staff, coffee would be excellent.
  10. BMW X5's, X6's and 5GT's use it in the 3ltr and above engines. More often than not, it isn't explained at handover so the 1st thing the customer knows about it is the warning, then the £120 bill for a refill. Ouch.
  11. I work with these every day. (BMW service advisor) They have to be one of the best value for money 'sports' cars available. It'd be interesting to get your impression of the 0-60 time as BMW's estimate seems to be VERY conservative. Many owners have reported sub 4.8 seconds which puts it right up there with the E90 M3. Great car, Enjoy.
  12. Excellent. All sorted now. Thank you for your prompt response.
  13. I'm a little late to the party for the June '14 update. I've downloaded the update fine but am struggling to transfer it onto the SD card. I've a Windows 8.1 computer and i'm trying to extract the files straight to SD card using the 8 ZIP software. How long can I expect it to take. Mine was 'extracting' for 15 minutes and was still on 0% so I gave up. Should I extract to the hard drive first then transfer onto SD? Should I be using a more recognised 'unzipper'? Any experience/advice will be greatly appreciated.
