1. you need to experience an alfa gta for poor turning circles... you cant drive into parking places in a multi-storey car park.... super quick short rack
2. I managed with an alfa 156 gta SW boot so i should manage with the focus. Kids are getting older so not as much need for all the rubbish to be carted everywhere in the boot. Still going to need a roof rack for camping though - the tent fills the boot near enough in the vrs! Focus is mid way noise between vrs and GTA (which was a bit too much!) As you say Rob-e - not much out there competing with the vrs and st estate petrols - this side of £20k anyhow... £750 ford discount and 2 years unlimited mileage on a used car sealed the deal - working out £30 a month cheaper than than the vrs!
3. well she's gone today - heading south as i type.. great car - jack of all trades and whist master of none a fantastic family fast estate - been brilliant I'm sure the new owner will be along on here at some point - great guy - testament that like minded people on these forums can make car sales a better experience! I'm sure i'll be back on here at some time - but next stop is a ford focus st estate.... why you may ask? 1) way cheaper than the vrs to buy nearly new (ST-3 1yr old 9k miles £17,400 via ford direct) 2) Recaros.... yum yum 3) on paper its quicker (doesn't feel it to be honest) 4) the main reason is a daft one - I've' never owned the same car in a row... it aint that pretty but the vrs to be honest isnt exactly a beauty queen - very purposeful looking opposed to the meek focus looks. I must admit when the focus was released i was not a fan of the looks but it has definitely grown on me. so see you all in about 2.5 years time if skoda get there pricing / product right again.
4. Thanks for putting him in touch - think he's got a bargain good spec car
5. that's me indeed - been on briskoda for some time now... 'Member Since 01 Nov 2003' with only 2 spotted's!
6. Yes just waiting on him getting back to me - teetering on a deal - just need the final commitment to buy. Currently still open to offers and (having learnt my lesson previously) need a deposit before securing removal of sale - first person with the dosh wins.... Must admit its a bit of a reluctant sale in that I'm not wholly convinced the replacement car will be as good....
7. Based in Altrincham (or for southerners - South Manchester!) - or Chester in worktime hours (the cars spent most of its time on the M56 between the two)
8. i will update interested people with specific photos of any scratches etc. I've been advised by a dealer it would cost £250 to make it mint by the way (scratch on rear passenger door is the worst bit - just through the top coat - not down to metal.
9. no problem - I'll get some new pictures tomorrow and link to some already on this forum
10. not heated - no need with the petrol IMO needed if it was a diesel though! forgot to add - its also fitted with skoda / eibach springs (aligned by awesome gti)
11. VRS TSI Estate in white - 11 plate 52k miles and still under warranty. Full leather, xenons, sunset glass, jumbo box. Recent aircon re-gas. £11,500 car can be viewed work hours near Chester or weekends / evenings in Altrincham PM me for additional info UPDATE also fitted with skoda/eibach springs - aligned properly by awesome gti
12. I'm contemplating selling my car and wondered if anyone had traded in a similar car recently? despite all the cars in the private adds and the likes of parkers guide etc they come up with some rather silly prices.... and despite them telling you upfront when you buy a car its got desirable extras they don't so much as give them one thought when they give you a trade in valuation. I hate selling cars privately but think its going to be the only way to be honest. My car is VRS TSI Estate in white - 11 plate 52k miles and still under warranty. Full leather, xenons, sunset glass, jumbo box. Just had its dsg fluids changed at the last service and has 4 new goodyears all round. Nearly forgotten - its got graphite grey OZ Ultraleggra alloys too. what do you think? haven't seen anything similar go for less than £11k to £12k thoughts please?
