Yep plenty of oil in it. I wonder if the belt tensioner is on its way out but it could be many things I guess......

Car has been starting poorly recently. On driving it today it sounded loud and rough. It drove fine with no warning lights on dash. Noticed it was idling at 1k rather than 600room though. I have attached link to video showing how it sounds. There is a bit of a squeaking that can be heard under the clatter.... Could it be a belt issue of some sort?? It's the map, I had a very popular companies map and had loads of issues.... Just got it remapped at Darkside Developments and it's all sorted!!!

Purchased proper Apple adapter and it all works now....Yay!

Well i took the cheap option (as normal) and splashed a whole £2.99 on the new style adapter on ebay that allegedly works with audio as well. Guess what.............. it does not work via MDI.......but does charge Strangely it does work with my LG mini hifi though. I will just have to buy a proper adapter now...

Any update on this chaps as i am about to upgrade to a 5....

I popped to see Ben at Shark Performance on my way home today. He has coded vcds for me and played about a few other settings as well. I will fit the lights tomorrow so I can get them levelled straight after. On a separate note Shark have just taken delivery of their very sexual 63 Octavia VRS in black. Had a quick look around the car with Ben today and it's lovely!!

I got an mdi kit from eddie-nl and it came with the required loom so it was just the case of making space to fit the loom behind the columbus. Its a right squeeze and i ended up putting the mdi box to the right behind the speedo area if you take the top vents off. I then threaded the ipod cable up through the top storage tray and my iPhone plugs in their out of the way and i have full control via the Columbus head unit.

Why? What will happen.........?

My kit arrives tomorrow. Does anyone know if i will have problems if i fit the kit prior to getting the coding done? At a minimum i assume you will get a bulb fault light on the dashboard? Will it cause any other problems???
