  1. Just thinking with Audi offering so many quattro versions VAg might decide to roll it across the range a bit more.Oh and I dont think the larger Octy will fit my garage setup so I'd quite like it.
  2. You have a nice collection of transport available to you Pat.
  3. Anyone know if the Rapide Spaceback is going to get 4 wheel drive. My dealer had no idea when I got more car serviced a couple of weeks back.
  4. Or you could let the dog in the main part of the car like I did with an earlier Golf, it chewed the steering wheel, handbrake window winders my filofax ( yes sorry I used to have one ) Had the dog another 12 years and she was lovely once she stopped chewing.
  5. Window licker isnt very politically correct either
  6. Driving gloves the ones with a leather palm and string backs with a press stud spring to mind if you cant wash your hands Not sure you can get them anymore
  7. As previously stated by other posters (not sure if that's the right term) you don't notice them after a few days, the big thing for me is not raining in when parked and Ive left the window open for the dogs. even better is the airflow changes so your windows stay clear in the rain so you can use your mirrors. Had a big problem with this in the early part of the year with all the salt on the road
  8. I have found that the mirrors folding with the key fob only works when the key fob window opening option is selected on the mdc, I also found that each key is individual so if you set up one for your preferences unless you do the second key it will have different options. Hope this helps rather than confuses.
  9. Checked the MDC menu the other day, found under the lights menu a lane ch flash option, this turns on or off the convenience function. Hope this helps.
  10. If it is the convenience turn signal as DGW says if you have MDC this function can be turned off using that. If memory serves correctly
  11. I managed to change my remote opening to all doors with one push of the button of the fob using the MFD and not having to resort to the laptop and VCDS though admittedly needing to do it for each fob, I dont want to appear negative, but would question if you need to ask what a fob is then I would suggest not touching VCDS.
  12. After 16 years of Volvos which had DRLs which variously could be turned off by switch, download from Sweden or not at all, I have to say I have made fewer emergency stops after someone pulls out infront of me with them off than switched on. I understand in WW2 aircraft switched the landing lights on when attacking submarines and ground targets as it disoriantated the target. Motorcycles and headlights etc I am in the same mind I dont use my headlight while riding my motorbike. With regard to the post from Kingsley above having been in emergency vehicles with every light and siren on and drivers not seeing or reacting to them then then I doubt DRLs make any contribution to road safety
  13. I take it the manual doesnt tell you this, which isnt actually much of a surprise, as its worse than a 1970s datsun manual for translation. Yes I had a 1970s datsun, live with it, I have to !
  14. Well its a month since I fitted these and today is the first time its rained around here when Ive been in the yeti, it absolutely tipped it down on the A1M and the rain didnt block the mirrors as prior ti fitting the deflectors. Result so far as during the winter weather the mirrors got blocked with crud blown off the windscreen through the gap between the body and the mirror. So far so good
  15. Just finished fitting a set of these to my yeti. Drivers side no problem passenger side took a couple of trys before the window closed properly. I just used 1 clip per window so far as they seemed secure enough. Leaving the windows closed over night to bed in. Pretty good value for under 30 quid. Hope I have a long wait before I see how good they are in the rain!!
  16. Dog Guard problem fathomed, loosen lower fixing bolts, remove upper fixing bolts swing guard forward shelf can now be removed. Bit of a faff compaired to my volvo xc70 but I dont need to do it very often. Still working on the other matter.
  17. Thanks to all who have replied so far. I think Im going to have to research the internet for a possible neat solution, I'll let you know if I find one that doesn't look like it cost 6 old pennies. Yes I can remember spending them at the local sweet shop.
  18. Hello All My first post and quite an odd couple of questions. I had had my Yeti for just over 4 weeks and have noticed a possible bodywork problem. First let me introduce it a 2l Diesel 140 elegance in regency green, well thats what the brouchure said apparently its malachite green and the touch up paint instructions arent in english. Anyway back to the main question. Have any of you vastly more experienced Yeti owners noticed that the rear door seal around the wheel arch allows road debris like salt through the seal. I notice that instead of the door closing within the wheel arch it closes around it so to speak which means the edge of the door is constantly exposed to road crud. I have checked this with a number of other yetis and they all appear the same, although all same model year. I am looking at extra seals, door edge protectors and stone chip sprays to resolve this. I havent seen a Yeti with the extended wheel arch kit so have no idea if this would assist. I have only really noticed this problem because I have two dogs who reside on the rear seat of the car, so perhaps most havent seen this problem. Incidentally I have a Yeti dog guard fitted and well its not the worst one but close, I havent yet figured out how to take the parcel shelf out without removing the guard. In answer to those who ask why are your dogs in the car and not the boot with a dog guard, its simple really they prefer the comfort of leather seaths to a cardboard boot floor on top of the spare wheel. Thanks in anticipatcion, I did try to find an answer in the forums but couldnt, perhaps Llanigraham can assist.
  19. Hello I have now had my snow monster or Yeti for just over 4 weeks after 14 years of Volvo ownership. My last Volvo was an Xc70 which I had for 5 year, drove in all weathers and it never failed me in any task. Slight worries about the yeti and this forum hasnt actually helped in lessening them. Hope I can report several years of happy ownership but only time will tell.
