Yeah I held out a while before getting mine as I really wanted the fab in white.. even looking now I hardly see any! Was the vrs mk1 ever produced in white?

I know about piston slap, just trying to find out whether others have been aware of this TPI, and in general, wanting to get an estimate on cost of replacing the rings myself. Whether its worth doing or not financially. ..

Long story short, I think I have finally found the possible cause of the awful tapping-like noise from my 1.4 16v fabia engine. I've come across a TPI for the engine, explaining how there could be Piston ring damage (piston slap), caused from either manufacturing insertion error of the rings, or incorrect fuel use (I.e: not the high octane stuff).... Even though i use the high octane fuel, its most likely the latter from previous owners. Anyway, im considering rebuilding the engine, just wondering has anyone had any experience with this issue before? Thanks in advance ????

Just curious about the steering as I had the lights flickering, etc, aswell as an intermittant power steering fault. Mine turned out to be a steering angle sensor which has cured the lot

Half of those wheels on tge list i didnt even realise would fit. I adsumed it was just the usual Golf, A3, etc... But yeah, They do look cool

Yeah there's the steering angle sensor, going from the rack to the pump. I believe these are quite a common component to go wrong and theres now actually a modified sensor. The old had a plastic end, and now is metal. I bought one of these new ones last week but am yet to fit :/ I have the intermittant loss of power steering, along with flickering lights and whinging noise coming from somewhere in the engine bay ;D . Fingers crossed this sensor cures it!

Yeah see, mine doesnt go away :/ even when up to running temperature...

I apologise to bring the thread back up, but ive been thinking again :L im pretty sure the noise I have is a tappet noise. Has anyone got any experience with this? And has anyone got any experience with the tappet additive for oil? Thank yaaa
