The Mk3 Octavia TDI water pump thread
Skiddersvrs replied to pist0nbr0ke's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I was also advised that the service interval is 75,000 miles not 130,000 as previously thought.- 268 replies

The Mk3 Octavia TDI water pump thread
Skiddersvrs replied to pist0nbr0ke's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Year of registration 2016 Engine 2.0 tdi cr vrs Mileage when fault occurred 42000 Dealer name & response (i.e. "don't want to know"/"yep, they all do that"/other) Sinclair Skoda want £90 to diagnose the fault, Skoda UK are quoting Procedure to try and fob me off. Warranty or goodwill contribution? None offered unless diagnosed by Skoda authorised sealer. Any other info. (Full Skoda service history/independent?) Full Skoda history, 6 weeks outside of warranty. Has anyone been refused goodwill and taken court action?- 268 replies

Replacement rear bumper
Skiddersvrs replied to Skiddersvrs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I've since looked again at the damage and thankfully it's all on the removable lower section and is only costing £115 fitted at my local body-shop. -
Her in doors has managed to give the rear bumper a good knock against a stone wall right in the center, I am off to my local body-shop to see what the damage to my wallet will be! Can anyone recommend where to get a replacement that is original and not at main dealer prices? Thnaks

I am looking at having a tow bar fitted to my 2016 4x4 Vrs Estate, I have contacted the main dealer for a quote, an eye popping £900. Can anybody recommend somewhere that will do a good job, not void the warranty, at a reasonable cost in Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire or Swansea areas.

I can't imagine that there is anything that would be damaged or effected by adding them. Think that I will just plod on and get them done locally. Car gets delivered on Friday, can't wait.

Just purchased a Vrs 4x4 Estate and was hoping to fit rear mud flaps. The dealer has said that due to the 4x4 Skoda have said they will not fit them! Is there any reason it will effect the 4x4? Will be purchasing form superskoda. Thanks in advance

Pics of mudflaps on meteor grey estate?
Skiddersvrs replied to pist0nbr0ke's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I've just bought the 4 x 4 Vrs estate and the parts department are saying Skoda will not let them fit the rears due to the 4 x 4? Is there an issue there is it still only ride height? Would rather spend £15 then have to repair the bumper due to chips etc. -
The car was in for a service a few weeks ago, will ensure that they check the connection and reset with VCDS first. Many thanks

I noticed over the weekend that the headlights on my car are not working as they should, when I turn on the ignition/engine they normally do a dance, in out and up and down, however the passenger side is not going up and down. It has also turned an almost sunset orange/red. The car is into the local main dealer on Tuesday to have the problem looked into. Any info prior to arriving with the care would be much appreciated as they have so far been pretty useless with fault finding on other issues. Many thanks

Skoda UK goodwill gesture
Skiddersvrs replied to Skiddersvrs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I have now received a goodwill gesture from Skoda, decided that a Columbus upgrade would be taking the mickey. They offered a free service, declined on the basis that Skoda would not follow there own service schedule. I stated that it has a retail value of £200 - £250, the guy on the phone then promptly told me that was not the value to them! He offered £50, I eventually got he to £125. He also stated that cars are expected to breakdown during the warranty period!! If I had had that information in January I would have gone elsewhere to buy a car. I can honestly say this is the last time I will be buying from the VAG range of brands, seems standards have been allowed to slip.- 16 replies

Skoda UK goodwill gesture
Skiddersvrs replied to Skiddersvrs's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
The car is 3 years old, bought in January this year, less than 25,000 miles (now), full main dealer history, not that means much as they don't follow there own service schedule!! They had the car for a week sorting out the DMF issues, mainly because they couldn't decide which warranty they were trying to claim from. I called both and the next day all work was authorised under the manufacturers warranty. it is a shame as I had a 52 plate Toledo before, did 80,000 plus miles with no problems, wish I had not changed now.- 16 replies

I made a complaint to Skoda UK yesterday regarding a few faults with my car. Long story short; DMF, Clutch, Non-start (on my wedding anniversary), A/C Compressor failure (over 3 month wait for part). I am expecting a call back by Friday, any suggestions of how much or what to request as they have asked my what I would deem acceptable to settle this! I was thinking a free service, some vouchers for accessories and possibly an upgrade of the existing Bolero to a Columbus unit. Ideas ASAP please all and thanks
