  1. After just under two years with my fab, I've chopped it in for a 208 gti prestige. It's due to arrive beginning of December. She's been brilliant, never drunk oil or had any problems other than punctures and a few rattles. I will miss it dearly but times change and car models get superseded so off I go cheers for helping me out with all my posts! I will be sticking around as no doubt maybe a new fab vrs may tempt me back (If they ever make one). Dealers are offering me silly money for it so I'm all up for selling it privately if anyone wants a loved, weekly cleaned Vrs with 23k on the clock. Just let me know Cheers again
  2. The retail price is 20,600 GBP so its a saving but I know what you mean. The cars getting long in the tooth and isn't worth that much in the current market. The estate is something I totally understand. Its nice to have the 4 doors and big boot. Is this enough to warrant a old chassis design and poor driving dynamics versus new cars.. I just don't know!
  3. Greetings all! Right the time has come to replace my beautiful 2013 Fabia! I am facing a dilemma currently. My local stealers have offered me a Steel Grey VR Estate, brand new kitted out with everything other than climate control. Comes with stuff like sat nav, electric windows, rear head rest and arm rest... you get the picture for around 18,000 after discounted contributions. What would you guys do? I'm also interested in the 208 GTI from Peugeot. I know the Fiesta ST is the better car but the 208 seems more refined. They have to build the 208 GTI Prestige from scratch so I have a two month wait but the cost is around the same on PCP. Should I stick with a Fabia and enjoy the new toys or move on and get into something more modern in the hot hatch world.. I really cannot decide! Also I'm up from selling my current Fabia VRS for around £10,500 if anyones interested. PM for details. It has finance one but I would clear that. Thanks in advance guys!
  4. Geez, I've been unlucky over the last year! I've managed to get two major punctures on my fronts and a puncture repair on the back. Now I've got another one! None of my tires have even made it less than 4mm yet! Lol! I now have Conti SC5's on the front though and they are amazing. The factory SC2's seem to be magnets to sharp objects! Luckily its the rear SC2 that has the puncture. On another note, I'm a bit depressed as I don't know what to replace my car with now. Shame they stopped the estate VRS! I really fancied another!
  5. Mine is going in for very similar problems tomorrow. Its the window ECU. It may need a replacement. Thats what my dealer diagnosed it as.
  6. Cheers! I will ring skoda parts! I have done vinyl wrapping before but I don't intend to keep the Fabia as its on PCP. So I would have to get one painted sooner or later anyway. Thanks for your help!
  7. Hi Mark, No problem at all, its booked in on the 30th. I couldn't tell you the cost as my car is only 10 months old so its under warranty. I'll try and find out for you if they will tell me.
  8. Some scummy so and so, obviously coming home for a drunken night out, decided to kick my wing mirror, smashing it into a few parts across the path! Luckily the mirror and plastic frame are fine and it all went back together but the painted cover is badly scratched and cracked. Does anyone know how much a Black Magic cover would be? Or do I need to get it painted? Merry Christmas Briskys!
  9. Hi guys! I took it down to Bristos and it is indeed a fault. Apparently its a common problem with Fabs. The window Ecu's in the doors can play up. One guy apparently had it so that the window went up 3/4's and then just stopped and then wouldn't respond on any switch! Crazy. All booked in!
  10. Hi Guys! Just to let you know, the Fabia is still running without missing a beat! I do have a slight problem though, (Please don't shoot me if this has already been covered, I did search and came up with nothing.) My passenger window has a mind of its own. If my passenger has the window down and tries to close it, it closes quarter of the way and then back down again. He presses it again and it does it again. Seemingly impossible to close the window.. If I use my drivers side switches, it works fine. (Sounds like a switch problem right?) Well due to the fact that I have rarely open the window let alone a passenger doing it, I haven't worried about it. Today after showing my colleague who also has VAG car that you can open and close the windows with the key, it done it again. Both windows came down, pressed the key to raise and the window flipped out again and has the same symptoms as before. It took 4 attempts for the window to close properly. Has any one encountered this? Its like the window thinks someone has there arm in the window (Anti-trap) all the time? Maybe worth phoning the dealer up! Cheers! Thresh
  11. Yeah, I'm interested in a Octy VRS Mk3 as soon as its viable to get out of my car. Fancy a diesel VRS!
  12. I was just in Bristo's the other day talking to the guy about getting a VRS OCTY to replace my fabia early next year! Shes beautiful!
  13. I floored my car up the on ramp on the A14 from the dealer with 10 miles on the clock and then the whole way home I was hooting about. Never 'ran' it in a such. I've used 1.5 litres of oil in 10,038 miles and have got the odd rattle here and there but like everyone is saying, its a cheap car for what it is and I would happily have a estate next time. I might look at a Octavia VRS though! I hated having only 2 doors!
  14. Haha, the would be funny to watch. Highly dangerous though!
  15. Hi guys, Just to let you all know, I'm penny free, damage free and 9000 miles in with a litre of oil in the whole time. Happy days! Just goes to show there are some good VRS Fabs out there!
  16. I think a trip to a autobahn is called for. Try it out!
  17. Yeah I can imagine! It's already driving me nuts! And it's probably gonna cost an arm and leg to get the dam things out. I would have a bash at taking the dash out but it's not even old and I wouldn't wanna mess it up!
  18. Dr zoidberg, you might be right tbh. I think it's time to change to something cheaper to run. I haven't had the best of luck with it and its probably best. Luckily I'm square on my pcp so I won't lose out if I trade it in. Just a shame really! Oh wells! Thanks guys! That made me laugh haha! I wonder how much it would cost to get the dam things out. I don't think it's guna pay out. Hahaha.
  19. So yeah, now they are sloshing around! Does anyone know how to get down there so I can fish them out?
  20. Don't worry sharkrider. Black VRS's still cut the mustard. Admittedly I saved a lot trading in for a VRS so its worth it to in my opinion as well!
  21. May I also add, the swing stereo is pants compared to it. The Citroen had a cool menu system for choosing songs plus all that automatic assist tech and buttons for dialling the emergency services. Hey ho! Only a peice of metal! Can't beat the speed and gearbox though of the Fab and I'm a big kid so that wins any time!
  22. I paid 17,000 in the end. It came with leather, parking sensors, rain sensitive wipers, auto lights, power folding mirrors, cruise, bluetooth and upgraded subwoofer stereo. Alot of car for the money but so is the fabia. They are both brilliant but I guess like everything - matter of opinion and taste .
