  1. Thank you all for the very constructive comments, which I shall take on- board. I did however not indicate to all , that in fact the Tunit unit I have refered to was used at level 5 setting on my previous Vrs (euro 5) model without trouble for seven years. Granted that my newer Vrs is a (euro 6) and trimmed down to setting '3' of ten presets. The result was brilliant after first test run, however a re-start from cold caused the 'Christmas tree lights' effect and limp mode again . I may well try setting '1' , and if not successful, then it goes on the garage shelf!
  2. Hi guys and gals, I would like to know if any of you Skoda Octavia MK111 owners have attempted and used a Tunit device to improve economy and power. I only ask as I have tried with success after initial installation and test run, with a result of a dramatic smoother performance requiring fewer gear changes. However the following morning the instrument warning cluster on the dashboard all lit up, and would not extinguish upon key turn. Additionally a caption came up as a warning of 'Electronic Stability Control Activated'. With all this going on the engine failed to start on my driveway - thankfully. The only remedy I had to hand was to disconnect the Tunit device, reconnect all as normal , and engine would then restart. I also have a canbus reader, and this gave no error at all on the meter. My car has recently had a service with nothing to report at 10K, and the Tunit unit I have had couriered down to the manufacturer for a complete re-test. The device in turn came back- all normal. I pull a large braked trailer fair distances, hence the use of the Tunit device. Any opinions at all would be gratfully accepted? thank you.

Has anybody within the above owning groups been issued with a recall notice reference the above widely publicised subject? and if so have anybody gone to the extent of collectively appealing to VW through collective litigation channels? I would be interested in how this process will be managed by legal representation. I believe that in America, compensation payments have come about, even though the issue is mainly for engines failing via software up to a Euro5 build. So I believe europeans should be similarly compensated by some means, for the mis-represented facts on initial purchase? Any opinions would be greatly appreciated.
  4. Hi, I am new to this forum, and also new to owning a Skoda. I have been reading with interest about Battery ratings, mine is a 61Ah style and believe it should or could be more powerful, particularly for the larger Diesels. Starting is becoming slower after only three years. Any comments most welcome.
