  1. Azur Skoda in Chichester won't pricematch VW either. Azur price for my Octavia VRS is £459 inclusive of everything.
  2. Chichester VW are the same as Portsmouth VW (Peter Cooper), and said they won't do a Skoda either.
  3. Have called my local dealer in Portsmouth about their £349 offer for cambelt and water pump, but they said they WON'T do a Skoda as they are no longer anything to with VW and they couldn't warranty the work??
  4. Try this link mate, based in Bishops Waltham. He re-set my mileage when I had Maxidot retrofitted by JKM who couldn't do it. http://www.autosphereuk.com/
  5. This link is from an earlier Columbus post on the site today. Maybe worth a try ?? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/271514989784
  6. Yes mate it does. I thought the noise was my rear wheel bearings on the way out too !! Now, silence is golden......
  7. Had my fl VRS serviced last week and both my rear tyre inner edges were down to the core. Had my tracking re-aligned as follows: TrackingScan.pdf
  8. Hindsight is a wonderful thing Ed ! It would have worked out less for me if I'd have driven to you and back in the first place when you gave me the advice about buying and fitting. On a better note, I'm well impressed with the Maxidot though, lol. P.s. Are you still intending to come down near this way by any chance?
  9. It was £99 inc VAT, which is 1 1/2 hours labour
  10. That's the point Ed, JKM said they're not allowed to do it (even though they have given me a receipt with proof of mileage on BOTH clusters to get it done somewhere else)
  11. Had a second hand Maxidot cluster fitted into my fl Octavia VRS yesterday by JKM in Portsmouth, but they couldn't (or wouldn't) do the mileage correction, which is now showing 21,000 miles too many. Have found a couple of companies that will do it in Hampshire, cheapest being £70. Does anyone know anyone local-ish that would do it cheaper please? Thanks Kev
  12. Don't know what it's like but how about this one ? https://www.eonon.com/Car-GPS/Specific-Car-GPS/VW/GM5152.html
  13. I believe you're right Eddie. Gives a "bong" and flashes when the set speed is reached.
  14. Hi mate, just seen this post. My aircon packed up out of warranty, but Skoda still did it under goodwill. Cost me £139 all in. If you search for my post "Aircon problem", you can see what happened. Sorry, don't know how to put on a link to my post.
  15. Well, Skoda have now confirmed that my N75 valve and turbo actuator need replacing. The diagnosis alone is £149, and the 2 replacement parts fitted will be somewhere around another £450. Deep joy....... Not !!!!
  16. I have this fault code on my f/l Octavia VRS TDI, 16683/P0299/000665 - Boost Pressure Regulation: Control Range Not Reached?, with the flashing glow plug and exhaust control lights, and also in limp mode. Have been to Halfrauds with my warranty who cleared the fault codes and after a short road test said there is no fault. I argued that that there is but to no avail, drove away from them, and all the lights and limp mode came back! I've now been to Skoda who have put it on their diagnostic machine and confirmed the same fault code. However, they were too busy to do the work and I have to take it back in next week to sort the problem. According to them, the fault "is not common" and will need a process of elimination to repair. With the initial diagnostic check and the first one again next week, they have quoted me a £150 bill for starters. Has anybody had the same symptoms repaired by Skoda, and what was the final cost of repairs please? Thanks Kev
  17. Hi, Does anybody have the fitting instructions for genuine roof bars LAS 610 001A, with torque key, that they could copy and email me please? I've been to Skoda and they said that they don't have the instructions, and I can't download them. Thanks in advance Kev
  18. Hiya, I'm working shifts and will struggle to get to you, so can I have it delivered please. I'll PM you mate.
  19. Is this still available please mate? If so. i'll take it off your hands please.
  20. In response to russler, it's well worth asking the question mate. The worst they can do is say no mate.
  21. Had to wait an extra week for the repair as the Skoda de-gas machine went kaput. Have now had the work done as the bolt in the centre of my pulley had sheared off. They removed the faulty compressor, flushed the system, replaced the drier and compressor, and re-gassed the system. Total cost to me was £139, which is slightly less than the £144 they initially quoted me. It's also guaranteed for 2 years as Skoda carried out the repair. Big thumbs up again to Garytc78 and Azur Skoda, Chichester.
