  1. Hi again, I initially looked at a few Up! cars but I wasnt very keen on the shiny dashboard. I did prefer the look of citigo better and would have been happy buying that but didn't have a great experience at my local dealers (who were trying to charge me too much as well as not telling me the truth about a few things). I had to give my company car back so not having any transport- i looked on the internet for available cars/ ex demos. I nearly purchased a Citigo from a dealer who was quite far from me but I found that they wanted a £500 deposit over the phone but wouldnt provide written T&Cs for the deposit, despite asking for them a few times - they seemed in a rush to take my deposit and & wouldnt supply me with t&c's, and therefore I didn't feel comfortable paying a deposit. In the end, I decided to take another look at a different local VW dealer who had an Up! available for sale. I realised the dashboard wasnt as bad as i first thought it was, and needing a car ASAP - i couldnt really be too fussy! Anyway- strangely, I managed to get a better spec Up! cheaper than the Skoda dealer was offering for the equivalent citigo model (SE green tech Citigo £9200 verus BMT Move up! £8900 plus a few extras) and I felt more comfortable as this particular sales person seemed a bit more understanding and was happy to provide me the written t&c's and reassured me about any other issues I had. Usually, in the past I just get to choose the company car i wanted and the company would sort it all out for me so this has been my first experience buying a car from a dealership. I thought it was going to be quite a straight forward and easy process but it was actually very stressful. However, saying that - I learnt a lot!
  2. Hi again, thanks for all the info, advice and tips. I went to a few local VW dealers and there was a new Up! there which I liked and decided to buy that instead. Many thanks.
  3. Hi Everyone, I was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to help answer a few questions for me please? I have been looking at buying a new small car and have had a look at both, the Up! and Citigo. I am keen on the Citigo more as I don't really like the interior of the UP! As I need a new car pretty soon, I am interested in buying a ex-demo (nearly new) and have found a few that I am interested in. This is the first car I am buying for myself and I have been to see a few Skoda dealership garages but I am starting to feel like I can't believe half of what the salespeople are telling me (not sure if is because I am a young female, looking by myself, for a new car and they are just telling me what they think I want to hear!). For example - a few have stated that its only been registered to the garage, only to later find out that the car actually had a private owners, or that its a demo car only used for demos - when in actual fact its a courtesy car given to someone for many months and therefore not available to view for a few weeks. I mostly need the car for driving locally and to use occasionally on the motorway (a few times per month). Can anyone please help answer the following questions: 1. Is there much difference between the 60ps and 75ps with the citigos'? 2. What is Skoda Customer Service like? 3. Is it true that everything is covered within the warranty and servicing for 3 years? I have asked a few salespeople and they are stating that EVERYTHING is included in the warranty and servicing for just under 3 years (including general wear and tear, clutches, brake pads etc). 4. If I buy a car from an approved Skoda dealer which is about 150 miles from me and find something wrong - would I have problems having them solved and fixed? 5. Can anyone recommend a good dealership near to London please? Many thanks!
