  1. For anyone else who stumbles upon this thread... I saw a random post elsewhere about battery issues leading to some of these warnings triggering. As I do very little mileage I did wonder whether this could be the case. When I took the car for a routine service I also asked for the battery to be changed. In a couple of months since then, even though I still only do infrequent/short journeys, I haven't had a warning crop up on the dash once. So I'm hoping that was the cause.
  2. I just posted about mine having this too, and hadn't seen your post. Did you get anywhere with this? I saw the same Audi post on a VAG forum and got my local VAG independent place to change the sensor and it's made no difference for me. I posted here today before I end up taking it to the dealer for them to random do things until they do (or don't) resolve it 😕
  3. Hi, I've been having some issues with warning lights on my mk3 Octavia vRS. Sequence of events over a few months is as follows: * "Brake servo restricted" alert whilst cruising on the motorway. Tentatively tapped the brake, no issue, alert cleared. * Repeated instances of same "Brake servo restricted", maybe once a week (I do very little mileage, 11k from new in 2019), I tap the brake pedal and there's strange tiny amount of resistance ("mild crunch / click"??) on the first couple of cm then feels all perfectly normal. I've had this alert maybe 20 times now. * Googled the error until blue in the face and found very little online other than something on a VAG forum suggesting it being a brake vacuum sensor needing changing. Took it to local independent VAG specialist, they Googled it too and reached same conclusion, put it on diagnostics, nothing really found other than the alerts that needed clearing. They changed the sensor.... Car still has the same issue. * I keep randomly get the error but have twice now also had "Manoeuvre braking currently unavailable" pop up, both when stationary and pulling away I believe. Before I take it to my local dealer and they probably have no idea either, has anyone had this and found a solution to it? The car is due a service now so I'm trying to get as much info as I need to pass on to the dealer to hopefully reduce the diagnostics cost. Thanks, Andrew

    Why?

Ditto! It reduces the amount but I don't think I've ever had a car where one idiot hasn't dinged my door. I even refuse to go shopping at peak times...it's got that much paranoia now!
  5. That's was I was told too, yes - managers car from head office. Not sure if that's a good or bad thing!
  6. I just paid a deposit on it today after a second test drive and hopefully pick it up within a week. KU12 *** - Candy White 2.0 FSI DSG vRS with Xenons, real parking sensor and space saver wheel Can't wait... :-) Now I just need to get the Mini properly valeted and sell it.
  7. When I was at the dealer the other day I was told (make of that what you will) that there are only estate diesel Blacklines left - and only a few of them, expecting to be sold out by mid Feb
  8. I'm just considering purchasing a nearly new Octavia vRS, never having owned a Skoda before. I test drove one today and was really impressed - price was 16,949. What I'm wondering is, I'm presuming that most of the technology still goes back to 2004? Or what facelift improvements have been done since then? Part of me thinks ill be paying quite a lot for pretty old technology - but it still does feel like a lot of car for the money. With the new mk3 looming I'm also wondering if I should wait a while and see if the mk2 price drops further or maybe push the boat out for a mk3 - although not sure I could justify >20k (well, my wife would kill me...) Do,people still think a £16k vRS with 7000 on the clock (options include rear parking sensor and xenons) is a good values for money purchase based on the age of the core technology? Thanks, Andrew
