  1. They come with Michelin Primacys on so it slides about abit! Same tyres that are on the Prius...
  2. I went from a fabia vrs to a GT86 ... Never looked back! Bags of fun to drive!!
  3. ajfisher bought it from me. Has he told you about mileage? When I sold it him, it had done 6,000 miles so getting ready for a clean!
  4. PM's sent. All items are now gone to new homes! Cheers everyone....car is still misfiring in cylinders 1 & 3 so I'm still with my courtesy car (which is a GT86) so it could be worse!
  5. As some of you may, or may not be aware, I swapped my MkII Fabia vRS in for a GT86 which i picked up today. Driven it around 40 miles, come to traffic lights to a horrendous lumpy idle which more or less shook the whole car, gave it a bit of revs whilst driving and it began to misfire (oh the irony!) with the CEL light flashing! back to the dealers.... Theyve now got the car and been given a brand new GT86 to drive round in whilst they sort it. Reading the forums it seems to be something that Toyota have acknowledged and have a fix for so i guess i cant complain, just spoilt the day for me a little bit! Also, the paint on the car is quite swirly, i asked them to machine polish it before i picked it up which they said they did, but, seems just as bad as it was, can anyone recommend a detailer in the Nottingham/Mansfield area?? Lastly, as i am not a FREEDOM member, i have some bits from my fabia that i am willing to give away to you guys on here, apart from my ITG Maxogen induction kit which will be going on ebay, so please look out for that on there! I hope the moderators dont mind this, if so, please remove this topic! I have; 1 x stubby OEM aerial with the o-rings i used 1 x pipercross replacement filter - brand new 4 x litres castrol edge 5w-30 - this comes in; 1 x 1 litre bottle and carry bag, and 1 x 3 litres in the big carton. these are open as i used to fill up my litre bottle from the big one. 1 x black magic touch up pen 1 x candy white touch up pen 2 x sets of OEM headlight bulbs. Let me know if you want anything from here, I can post if you cover the costs, or arrange to meet you in the Nottinghamshire/Mansfield/Chesterfield areas as well as junctions of the M1. Cheers, Ben.
  6. I'm assuming you have his registration and details for insurance? you need to report this to your local force ASAP, preferably within 24hours of the accident taking place. As Sharkrider says, he has committed an offence.
  7. Yeah it is George, I've bought some new wheels for it though so I've gone up to 225/40R18 92W. Got them from the same place for £62 per tyre; http://www.prestigewheelcentre.co.uk/tyres-c2/maxxis-maz1-225-40-r18-92w-tyre-p5441
  8. I got mine from here, very good service and quick delivery; http://www.prestigewheelcentre.co.uk/tyres-c2/maxxis-maz1-205-40-r17-84w-tyre-p2331 £57 per tyre!
  9. absolutely cracking set of tyres! love them. Just ordered a set for the GT86 too! ha.
  10. I wanted one in red so managed to find one close to me with just over 2,000 miles with leather on a 12 plate which I managed to get for just over £20,000 from a Toyota dealer which I think is pretty reasonable. To be fair though, there aren't many cars you can rag on the roads in the UK and obey the speed limits, the vrs included. I like the looks of the GT86, the driving position, how it drives, and I don't need a practical car, I'm still young and have access to other vehicles which means I'm very privelidged in that sense. Agreed though, I think a turbo version of the car would have been better, but as it stands I got a very reasonable insurance quote on the GT86 so I'm happy. Pipsyp, sounds like you did well on the trade in! Thanks for all the replies everyone.
  11. GT86 is £25k new but you can pick one up for about £23.5/24k from the dealer
  12. The BRZ is much harder to get hold of. They are only allowed to bring one in when Toyota have sold 10 or something, that's what the dealer was saying to me, and there is a waiting list for a new one. The Toyota gets more kit as standard with sat Nav, have to spec that on the BRZ and it's pretty pricey. Toyota warranty is 5 years vrs Subaru 3 years which was also a factor for me.
  13. I will be sticking around on here once i get it, i think it will be the only Toyota with a Briskoda 'B' in the window! and of course ill get myself to a meet and you can give it a thrashing round! ha.
  14. Thanks for all the replies. Gonna try and squeeze abit more out of Toyota this afternoon!
  15. Thanks Chris, seems Toyota aren't far off the mark then really. I'm usually insulted with trade in prices but I think that's pretty fair.
  16. Gonna be saying goodbye to my vRS shortly, getting myself a Toyota GT86. Just wanted to get people's views on an acceptable trade in price for my current car which is a 60 plate with 23,000 miles on. Anyone recently traded one in? Been offered £8,500 by Toyota, but not sure whether I would make much more than that if I tried to sell it privately? Thoughts please....
  17. George, I'm no expert in the area so just going off what I was told. But yeah basically they said that as the wheels would be wider they would take the co2 1/2 over the bracket meaning it would be £100. In the end I bought the car with the standard alloys, and bought the others separate, fitted them myself, told my insurance company, and had no issues at all come MOT time. It seemed very silly to me!! but just sharing my experiences. I think removing the DPF would be the way to go personally!
  18. Putting bigger alloys on your car can affect the tax band - I used to have an astra that standard was £30 a year to tax, because I specced the upgraded alloys it took the tax to £100. Warranty will be affected yeah, because they need to remap it when it's done, warranty will be mostly void I'm guessing. In regards to MOT it's a big grey area - diesels are tested for the amount of smoke they emit. I have three friends who all have DPFs removed which have passed theirs no problem.
  19. mine was done in three days...
  20. Unfortunately I cannot offer any advice or experience in terms of apex springs. However, I do have the H&R springs and have to say I am very impressed with them, they do ride firm but that's to be expected, body roll is very reduced. I would recommend them. Most people on here either have H&R's or the eibachs. Ben.
  21. Sorry to hear this! You need to report this to your local police force for them to generate you a crime number which should aid you with your insurance company. Good luck. Ben
