Not jailing people for software "theft" seems entirely reasonable to me. I mean, it's not like they stole something that works half the time!

Prison for theft of software. Yeah because by stealing software you are stopping somebody else using it.

Sorry but that is one of the worse lines I've ever heard and I write software for a living.

Yes the company should have to buy legitimate copies of everything they have used (at the retail price at the time of use or now, whichever is higher). Then they should have a fine equal to at least 100% of the cost of all that software added too.

Putting somebody in prison for it is a waste of tax payers money.
