HID Conversion Kits

Featured Replies

I was hoping to buy a new hid conversion kit but I am not sure what colour looks good on my car. Any advice?

i got a 6000k kit from hids4u.co.uk any higher than that and the colour becomes too blue/purple and you loose light output

6000k imho is the best to go for

Try doing a search on here its been covered a few times.

Basically though:

The brightest HID's are around 4,300k,

the higher the k the more blue/purple the light gives off, but they are also then not as bright.

4,300k = brilliant white (high powered halogens are just under 4,000k)

6,000k = white with a blue tint

8,000k = very pronounced blue

10,000k = very blue light, above this the blue turns purple.

So if you want the brightest light available, go for 4,300k,

if however you just want them to look cool  pick another, but be prepared to draw (unwanted) attention from the boy's in blue.
