dashboard help

Featured Replies

Anyone know how the dashboard comes off the Mk 1 (2004) Octavia vRS?

I need to replace me airbags!!

You shouldn't need to remove the dashboard. I think you can get at the passsenger airbag by removing the glove box. From memory if you take the glovebox out and look up you can see the airbag and the bolts that hold it in.

Be careful though, I don't fancy messing with the airbags...

Actually why do you need to replace the airbags, I presume they haven't gone off? I had problems with them on my wifes Leon and that was due to wiring rather than the airbags themselves, replacement airbags are rather expensive aren't they?

Unfortunately they have both gone off, which is why I need to replace them (and the dashboard) and probably the seat belt pretensioners too...

ok, in the absence of any sage words, I'm off outside RIGHT NOW to have a go...

I have my screwdrivers and my camera. I may be some time...
