Don't look back in anger

Featured Replies

Hey,

Had the pleasureable experience yesterday of having my wing mirror wrecked by some **** in a fiesta. Stationary on a road with parked cars both sides and she tears along on on my side of the white line and belted my mirror. Went after her but she got through the lights and I didnt! Very annoying.

So the mirror backing is cracked and the glass is smashed. Anyone know what the best thing to do is as regards sourcing a scrap part or just getting the glass re-done? Its a T reg Octavia.

Cheers,

Dave:mad:

Is it the heated version or just standard?

Would have thought it would be quite cheap for a replacement if its a standard one, from a scrappies or even from Skoda.

Were there any witnesses that got her numberplate? She has broken the law, for failing to stop at an accident in which damage was caused to another person / persons property. This happened to a friend of mine - he clipped a wing mirror of a woman who was pulling out, breaking both the mirrors, and drove off, she then informed the police and he ended up going to court and getting seven points on his licence.

Saying that, you should also inform the police if you haven't done so already.

Its not the heated one. Didnt report it yet, I may do later on today.

Does anyone know if the mk4 golf or seat toledo has the same mirror? The painted plastic backing is split as is the glass itself so may source parts seperately.

Think the Golf is but I forget. Will be plenty of them at the breakers though as there are lots of Taxis which were MK I's

What breakers would be best? So far I have only been able to source new ones......

Golf 4 and Audi A3 mirrors look the same from the outside.
