Hwsitation when changing gear

Featured Replies

This is something the wife spotted first a couple of weeks ago but seems to be happening more often.

When we change gear and as the clutch is released theirs what I can best describe as a small lurch / hesitation.

At first I told the missus that it was probably just the turbo getting caught by the gear change as it was spooling up but now I'm not so sure.

Anyone else experienced it ?

Octavia II Estate 1.9Tdi.

If changing gear and it goes under 1500rpm the turbo would not have started to spool up so would give a slight hesitation until this time.Try to keeps the revs up as you change through as this keeps the turbo on heat and you will get no hesitation.

Hope that makes sense.

Cheers, yes it does make sense and I have been keeping the revs up but with no change. I'll take it out again tomorrow and do a proper scientific test drive :-)
