A newbie needing help... SUBWOOFER

Featured Replies

Hey guys, well, not a newbie to the forum but definately a newbie to the ICE scene. I recently updated my headunit to an Alpine IVA-D105R. I was thinking about updating the bass in my car but havn't really had enough money for the upgrade. Anywhoo, I had a pleasant surprise today when a friend (having sold his BMW) gave me a set of two 10inch subs in a vented enclosure (i think its a Novex 1200 or something). It's rated at maxx 1600W and had one 12V imput and two Sub inputs in the enclosure, I think it also had lights that come on in the enclosure. My question is, does anyone know of this enclosure and know if it is ok and also, what else do i need to get it running, I know an AMP will be needed but what type and rating? Plus, will I need a power cap? I'm looking for good performance/quality at a reasonable price.

Many Thanks,

Duggie.

If it has a 12v input it soinds like it has its own internal amp. This puts it in the active bass section meaning you just connect it up to your headunit via RCA leads, connect the 12v, earth and remote and your away.

:iagree:

big cable and wang it round the car :D

i might be able to help if you like seeing as your local :)

I'd appreciate if you could take a look Begie, I'm thinking of taking it to Marston audioparts but a second opinion would be great. PM sent.

Also, I think it's an enclosure with lights that flash when the bass is hard (yea i know, chavvy, but I didn't buy it), could that be what the 12V is for?

as i said mate pop round and we'll take a look :)
