  1. Carlston. That is very very informative. Thanks so much for taking the time to post such a detailed response. I really appreciate it.
  2. Hi all. I've just embarked on a 2016 Superb Greenline 3 Journey. Now. I know that the Greenline models sit lower than the SE-Ls - the Ride is ok for me, but too low, so I'd like to change the suspension out for SE-Ls. Preferably just springs alone, but if needs be, then the whole lot. I have some questions please. I'd really appreciate in advance if anyone can help? 1. Do the Greenline's also have different, (shorter travel) shocks, or is the difference springs only? 2. Would anyone be able to provide part numbers for Greenline Shocks n springs please? (Estate). 3. Would anyone be able to provide part numbers for SE-L Shocks n springs please? (Estate). Oh.. Any my VIN is: TMBKG7NP2H7037363. (Estate). Engine is the Super powerful 1.6 DCZA Engine šŸ˜†. Thanks.
  3. Ah. This is a subject very close to my heart. I had a similar experience 2-3 years ago. Hit what I thought was a pothole in the dark. Turned out when I doubled back and waited for daylight to arrive a very short time afterwards (after having swapped out the offending wheel for the spare), that it was a sunken manhole cover I'd hit. I parked up and took several pictures of the street location, GPS coordinates, road layout, offending manhole etc, plus the physical damage to 1 wrecked tyre, and mangled alloy wheel... I then tracked down the council responsible for that stretch of highway. Went on their Website and filled in an on-line vehicle damage claims form, detailing my incident and the indicated cost of repairs in the form of quotes. ( In my case 1 x knackered tyre, 1 x mangled Alloy, new wishbone, suspension alignment, and labour charges. What I received back from the council was a dismissive, (default) email quoting chapter & verse, the Highways act Section xyz and how they maintain their section of the public highway. I decided to dig my heels in out of principle and submitted a freedom of information request relating to when the offending manhole was last inspected AND for details of any other pothole claims made for that same manhole cover on that particular day.... Their 2nd response? Very different.. This time they pointed out that they would agree to pay my costs in this instance, but that this was in no way and admission of negligence on their part for the upkeep of the highway.... Now there's a thing... Sometimes perseverance and bloody mindedness does pay off. Just be prepared to dig your heels in. I hope this long, and maybe boring message helps someone else šŸ˜Š
  4. I think we'll have to agree to disagree here. I didn't suggest for one minute that the owner was trying to hide anything. Suggest you read my comment again carefully.. What If the car was priced accordingly? Granted, that could well be the case, but if it is, please point me to where the OP says this? lets put it this way. If you're happy buying a car which looked like it 'might' 'possibly' need a considerable spend on it at some point soon without a price adjustment, then fine, good for you. What works for you doesn't necessarily work for me. We're all different, so each to their own.
  5. Mine's easy.. Its my name, plus I cut my teeth on VAG GTIs.... I'm up to 30+ VAG cars so far... (on my 10th Skoda).
  6. Hi there. Quick question. We know what your mileage is, but what year is your car please? (Edit. Just seen.... 2020). Personally. Given the chilling response which your seller gave, I'd look to replace ASAP. This might sound academic now, as you've already bought the car, but seeing as the previous owner has had a bad experience in the past, did it not occur to him/her to replace the Timing belt rather than present the new owner with a (potential) ticking timebomb? One final thing... Please, please tell us that you managed to negotiate the purchase price down by a suitable amount to help cover the Ā£600+ bill. Sorry I cant help with a Liverpool based specialist but I'd be really interested to hear how you got on... I've just been through the exact same thing myself . In my case the water pump just let go, which served as a timely warning to get both cambelt and WP done - this week!
  7. HI OP. Just interested. Did you buy the car in the end? Thanks
  8. Errr. What! Thats the first time I've ever heard of this. At the beginning of this thread I just thought that you were extremely enthusiastic, but now... I'm inclined to agree. You are crazy, but in a good way though šŸ˜.
  9. Bumpage. Happy to entertain reasonable offers šŸ˜Š.
  10. Make & Model: 2016 Skoda Superb Mk3 SE L TDi 190 Hatch Colour: White Mileage: 66,600 (will rise as it's being driven several times per Week). Price: Ā£9,500 ONO Description: Hi all. This Skoda has been a great, very reliable car, but Iā€™m now in need of an estate once again hence the reason for sale. This car has all of the standard SEL Features, namely electric windows, mirrors, climate control. Columbus head unit, Leather/Alcantara interior with electric heated front seats, driver's memory seat, 3 zone climate control, foot well lights, electric boot, adaptive cruise control, Xenon headlights, DRLs, TPMS, multi-function steering wheel, Maxidot display etc. In addition this car also has 360 front & rear parking sensors, Self-Park, Lane assist and Blind spot mirrors. 19ā€ wheels and a Full-sized spare which looks to be unused. It has been an excellent car which has been totally reliable and way more fuel efficient than I expected. Road Tax is Currently Ā£35 Per Year and it is an Ad-Blue Model. Car has 2 Keys and has had 3 previous owners. Condition: Excellent Bodywork. No damage to seats etc. Mechanically very good Some points worth mentioning 1 Small paint chip on the rear Bumper. 2 The well documented DSG Lever position warning comes up very intermittently. (I have bought the replacement Micro-switch assembly which I have not had time to fit. Will give to the new owner FOC). 3 A small Windscreen chip occurred this week ā˜¹ I will check to see whether this can be repaired. Service History/Receipts/Recent Service work: Prior to my Ownership all servicing was carried out by Skoda, from 2016 to 2023. I have a copy Printout is present to verify this which I got from my local Skoda Dealership. From 2023 to Present all servicing was carried out by my local VAG specialist. This includes the all- important DSG Service @ 40K and and a recent Timing Belt/Water pump replacement also. I have the receipts for all of this work and this work has been recorded online also. For any interest of further info please message me. Thanks for looking. Collection: Yes - located in London E4 reasonably close to close to A406 or M25 J25, 26 or @ Work in Basingstoke. Pictures:

  14. Hi all. I'm just jumping on the back of this Topic several months later (Sorry OP). I have the same dilemma. I'm in the process of checking out my next (2nd hand ) car, and I only stumbled across this thread after also buying an hour of eRwin Time only to find that the Vehicle Enquiry data function is not available to private users.. Thanks so much for letting us Know ' Pre-Purchase' eRwin. I'd be very grateful if anyone on here can help please? Here's the VIN.. TMBKH7NP0H7007128 Thanks very much in advance.
  15. I'm inclined to agree that those FB Marketplace Mileages are actual Miles and not KM, as shown, which makes you smile all the more in the knowledge that VAG Diesels, (and Petrol Engines, of course), can be, and usually are with good maintenance/treatment, pretty damn robust, and capable of Galactic Mileages! šŸ¤©
