The best bargain ever?

Featured Replies

My Mondeo Zetec S TDCi is going up for sale. I do two trips a week between the North East and North West and my other business means i travel about 40,000 - 45,000 miles pa. As I have dogs and daughter, a decent sized car is a must. Economy is a must too. In the last two years I have had a brand new A6 allroad, A4 2.5V6TDi, Accord Type R, Civic Type R and now the Mondeo Zetec S Tdci.

The runnng costs are huge and i've decided to go smaller again and was looking for a 'black pump hot hatch'. Was looking at a 'executive car dealer' in Lancashire on sunday and low and behold he had took delivery of a THREE week old Furby vRS with 800 miles.

His asking price was

Glad you like the car and welcome to Briskoda.

I can't really answer you're questions as I don't have a furby. However, I think several people have been to jabba with less miles on the clock than you and I can't remember anyone reporting any problems.

I'm sure someone who does know will be along soon.

Re Jabba, IMO the best way to go, had 2 cars mapped by them, 1 diesel & 1 petrol, Results on both were excellent.

Re mileage I suggest you talk to Michael or Elton at Jabba & trust what they tell you, I would guess a few thousand might not be a bad idea but they will know better

Lastly, The car will probably use a bit of oil for the first few thousand miles so suggest you carry a litre in the boot, This should sort itself out by about 10000 miles

Welcome to Briskoda.

I see we have another black fabia. Think I should of picked yellow now.

Nah - nothing more satisfying than buying a car with your own hard-earned :P :D

Edited to add: satisfying in the clean, family-oriented sense that Briskoda encourages ;)

Chris

too true chris I'm glad I got my own lol, just some kids are very ungreatful! When I was a youngster I had to do with a old Metro the someone was going to dump, got it through it's MOT for not alot and lasted me until I knackered the autobox. Too many GTi starts bless it :D

What a fantastic deal you managed even back then - seems people in 2007 just dont drive a hard enough negotiation.

Good going

Welcome :)

You're of similar proportions to me then, and I can sit "behind myself" too :)

Can't answer the pimiping questions as mine is boggo standard, but the radio will go up and down with speed, you can set this up in the radio menu.

It will get better as its gently run in, depends how far you drive each time too, it takes a few miles to get up there in the 45 - 50 region. i think it uses the data from the last 50 miles to compute the mileage too when your on a long run. try the motorway.

Like others have said, keep a can of oil in the boot fir the first 10,000, mine used a 1l can.

And yes the GALA function on the radio increases the radio volume with speed...

do you lot realise this thread is over 2.5 years old??
