I'm glad to be here... briskoda is the best way to take good care of your car. I bought an Octi VRS with full Milltec exhaust,BOV Forge, INTAKE FORGE, ZIMERMAN brakes, Ferodo brake plates, SACHS powerclutch, boost indicator and ofcourse a remap. I'm surprised how fast it is... before I had an Opel(Vauxhall) Astra Bertone. I've just ordered a suspension kit from veitec wich will lower the car with 35 mm.

I want to keep this car for at least 5 years so the next stept will be a forge intercooler. I don't know if I can afford it this year, but in 2009 I'll buy it for sure :)

What do you think about a launch control? I'm thinking that if I get the intercooler I won't be able to have a good start because the 1st gear is too powerull.

Anyway,glad to be here :)

welcome to briskoda

A bigger intercooler won't make that much of a difference to how the car drives, but I hope you enjoy tinkering anyway! :)

It will make a difference after a few miles of drag racing... :D

If you're drag racing, I'd stay with the stock SMIC as a bigger FMIC will increase the turbo lag and thus slow down your starts. Heat soak will not be much of an issue as for track racing, as the car will cool between runs.

Just my 2ps...

But a bigger intercooler won't help me gain some HP??? Cooler air, better traction isn't that right? What do I have to do next to get more power??

No matter how big your intercooler is, it can only make so much of a difference. On its own, an FMIC will only make the same sort of difference as you have in performance between driving in Winter and in Summer. Getting an FMIC will only make sense if you have a bigger turbo which will generate a lot more heat as you will be compressing more air, but will also need a new remap.

But this is a bit off-topic for a 'welcome' thread. If you need to know more, the Search button will be your best friend!

Hello and Welcome.

Hiya.

If you want to talk details of tuning, and I'd say you do, you'll probably tap into more knowledge in the Octy 1 or 2 (as appropriate) and/or Maintenance and Performance fora.
