Does any VAG specialists that are "in the know" know what the service costs and intervals of the 6L W12, 4.2 V8 or even the 5L V10 TDi engines are in the Phaeton/Audi A8.

I'm really tempted by some of the 04/54/05 plate example prices out there, and may be getting one around March next year.....

Running costs (petrol/diesel) wont be too much of a problem as I will be using public transport by then and the other half has a company car. So I want nice enjoyable weekend cruiser to please me...

The 4.2l V8 takes 8.8 litres of oil which can be on variable if you want.

I think the biggest kicker for me was the cambelt change, 80k or 4 years, but means the front of the car comes off. That was a very scary bill at a main dealer but not sure what a specialist would charge though.

If you choose carefully I see no problem. Fuel will be a major expense at the moment.
