vRS and Tow bars

Featured Replies

I noticed on Pistonheads yesterday that there are a couple of Furb vRS's for slae, and they are shown with towbars (one had a Briskoda sticker on the bonnet).

I thought that the vRS's didn't have tyep approval for the ftiment of a towbar, am I correct?

Yes, you can fit a tow bar quite legally, but it isn't approved to tow anything so as soon as you attach anything that isn't a bike rack to it you've invalidated your insurance. :thumbdwn:

So my memory served me correct on that, good job I don't own a trailer...

Denis, thanks for your thread, and while I wouldn't want to discourage people from buying a particular car, if it has a towbar fitted and it's not supposed to, it would put me right off buying the car.

I've recently sold my vRS for this same reason (towing my sons quad) but now i'm thinking 'bugger it' and contemplating buying another!!!
