In on 6th June I requested the Customised data file monthly and included all the applicable clusters, my car is Petrol so the EV Charging cluster was not included, I also requested the Historic data file. None of these files have every appeared. I included screen shots showing request date and progress 24 hours and 48 hours later. The response on 29/6/2026 14:04 was Hello, Thank you for that additional data. Yes, the information provided on the screenshots as well as in your email has helped us to troubleshoot. On our end we can corroborate what you are seeing so far. Our next step will be to see if the extraction listed as the 1st of July will come as indicated. I will check back with you in two days to see if there are any changes. In the meantime, please feel free to update here if you receive any other changes or data on your end. Thank you! Fred Eaton Support Engineer On behalf of Volkswagen Group Info Services AG It would appear that they can see the files aren't being produced......... I've no idea if I'll be able to use the data if I get it, I was just curious .........

Front Windscreen wiper has an annoying issue
If you have the wiper stalk set to Auto, which mine is permanently set to, the is the occasional random wiper sweep due to the sensor picking up something. You can adjust the sensitivity on the stalk. I have noticed in this heatwave and high humidity that it’s been doing it more frequently. Is suspect that with air con on there might be tiny condensation drops forming or moisture in the air that the sensor picks up. My previous VWdid much the same during the 11 years I owned it. The other issue with wipers is randomly refusing to switch off or coming on in the Off position but still working normally at the other stalk positions. Usually the only way to stop it is to switch the ignition off or remove the fuse for the wiper motor. Strangely refitting the fuse can fix the problem. I’ve read that this can happen when the wiper motor needs to reset the park position. Finally there is the fault that requires a new stalk, our Fabia has this fault, it’s apparently something to do with lubricating grease on the contacts in the stalk, happened twice last time was 18 months ago.

Ordering New Karoq for Sept Delivery - What Options ?
I’ve seen posts saying a replacement headlight unit is around £900. It seems the indicator LEDs can fail and thus require a replacement headlight. Luckily they are covered by the 3 yr and the All -in-1 warranty.

Recommend garage near SE London
Spark Plugs on these engines are not cheap - expect to pay around £20 + VAT per spark plug, if there are coil pack extensions fitted these are sometime difficult to remove which will add to the cost around £15 + vat each. Brake fluid change price is perhaps on the high side. Engine coolant pump replacement - I'd ask for a breakdown of parts and labour cost, and if there are any drive belts that might need replacing while they are doing the work.

Electric tow bar: coding not working: suggestions?
If it’s the Skoda factory electric swivelling towbar, which it sounds like from your description. Are you able to check whether the 13 pin wiring socket in the swan neck is working correctly? My understanding was that a specific towing module had to be fitted and coded. Didn’t you mention this on a previous post - having the wrong one?

Sagittarius 19" alloy cover loose and fell or theft?
I’ve recently fitted Bridgestone Turanza All Season, Bridgestons have a 25,000 mile guarantee promotion- not sure how that might pan out though as driving style and usage patterns vary so much. Bought Bridgestones as they have a good rim protector, fitted Continental All Seasons to our Fabia last October, as it was slightly better rating in rain. Have Cross Climates ln previous cars but expensive and ratings suggested oriented more to snow. Goodyear Vectors the tyre depot manager advised against prone to cracking apparently.

Had An Argument With A Friends Gate Post...
If you’re intending to replace it I’d leave it until a few weeks before you want to sell and get it fixed then. The last thing you want is to fix it now and then get a careless driver bash it in a car park before you sell it I’d either touch up the bare metal scratches or coat them with Waxoyl to prevent rust. Unless you are really good/lucky diy spraying is nearly always obvious and looking worse than before.

Park assist
I don't know if I can pluck up courage to try again as I'll probably panic and apply the brakes early once the beeps & red warning come up, as thamestrader describes. Even with just a cardboard box and 2 m clear behind it was still very hard not to brake and wait for the sudden stop.

Park assist
Being a curious sort, last year I conducted a test with a cardboard box with my towbar attached. The emergency brake was applied in time to prevent hitting the box - but I’ll agree it’s only a fag paper away. More important though was the test with the cardboard box on its shortest side - it wasn’t detected and the car hit it. I did the same with the front assist with similar results. It’s actually quite difficult not to brake!

1.5 Tsi Power Cutting Out
The 1.5 TSI is a Miller cycle engine rather than the traditional Otto cycle. It relies on precise engineering tolerances. This problem doesn’t seem to affect all manual 1.5 TSI Karoqs nor does it seem to affect DSG versions. It also seems to affect vehicles that are brand new so that would rule out lack of maintenance. What do people think about this : that small number of engines might have critical components and sensors which individually are within tolerance but the collectively the tolerances are not really matched. Statistically this is a possibility. Thus leading to the engine software being unable to manage the engine in certain specific instances. The engine management software and DSG control software obviously communicate with each other and possibly pre-empt the stall or cutting out and change down or disengage the clutch. Just a thought.

Data Extract from MySkoda
I’m a Karoq owner and have been trying to get the from the MySkoda app but there seem to be issues as the requested files are not created/made available- sounds as though the interface for EVs is different but also not working properly. I have a ticket opened with EU Data inquires IT team at VAG.

Rear View Camera....again!
I have this occasionally and I think it’s when reverse is selected before the infotainment screen has fully started up.

Fuel flap won't open and running out of fuel!
Its a known issue, go to your nearest Skoda dealer and they will open it for you, and then book you in for a replacement part under warranty. see this thread Fuel filler jammed - Skoda Karoq - BRISKODA

MySkoda App - ACCESSING VEHICLE DATA TRANSMITTED TO VAG..
There have been a number of posts in the Facebook Skoda Karoq Owners Group recently related to the appearance on the infotainment screen when starting the car of a message about Data Tracking. I too have had this but it has now stopped. Then a new longer message referring to EU data protection and sharing - that was the gist I think as I didn’t take a photo and it’s no longer being displayed. I think I may have “OK d” both messages and that perhaps stopped them being displayed. Any way leading on from that I downloaded the latest version of the My Skoda App and it has new information about Consents and Permissions. Data Tracking which is tracking the way the App is used and Vehicle Data that the car transmits and is stored on VAG servers. There is a new feature to request downloads of the transmitted vehicle data that VAG store. There is a Historic Data request and Continuous data request, the later can customised to select specific data clusters and to one-off, monthly, until a specific date or non-expiring which I take to mean on a regular basis. It’s a little bit long winded to initially login into the Data Portal, to be able to request historical and continuous data, which will be provided within 24 hrs. I am waiting to see what is provided. The data dictionaries can also be downloaded. I’m assuming delivery will be by email as that’s how the data dictionary pdf was delivered. Links https://eu-data-act.drivesomethinggreater.com/content/euda/de/en/data-clusters https://eu-data-act.drivesomethinggreater.com/content/dam/datahub/pdf/data-dictionary/logged-data-dictionary/DataDictionary_V5.0_Continuous%20Data.pdf https://eu-data-act.drivesomethinggreater.com/content/dam/datahub/pdf/data-dictionary/251022_01_SVK_DataDictionary_V4.0_Historical%20Data.pdf I've not received anything yet and I've no idea what I will do with it or if I will even be able to do anything with it. I'm hoping I might be able to load into Excel, Access or My SQL database and then write some PHP or VB Macros to do something with it..........
