New Car Check?

Featured Replies

Picking up my new vRS TDI CR up tomorrow from the dealers and just wondering what, if anything, I should be checking/looking out for when inspecting before I sign off?

Obviously any bodywork/interior marks etc I know to look for but is there anything else?

Condition of paint/wheels (i.e. dents, scratches etc)

Whether it's the right spec

tyre pressures, whether the pdi has been carried out correctly, ie protective film removed from the seats, signs of smoking inside, signs it has been used for the 'lunch run' etc

Ever increasingly a problem, whether the car has been assigned with the correct number plates.

- That the suspension blocks have actually been removed.

- If Xenons, that they've been alligned (many dont when should be a PDI task)

- Check all windows operate.

- Check VAGcom has any requirements set (single door unlock, hazard when braking hard, lights home, anti-hijack etc - UNLESS you have maxidot, in which case you can do this yourself.

From experience.
