new clutch stinks?

Featured Replies

ive just had a new clutch fitted on my 2001 fabia it is working great infact i didnt realise how long the old clutch must of been knacked for.

anyway the new clutch was done on wednesday and since then it has been really smelly just like the original clutch smelt when it finally went.

is this normal for a new clutch is it just bedding in or is there something wrong with it?

it may just be bedding in....if it still stinks in 6 months, consult a driving instructor ! ;)

You will probably find the smell fades in a few weeks - it will be the residual smell from the old burnt out clutch because the garage didn't clean out the bellhousing.
