Cabin heater dont work, but fan run ok

what to look for to correct this problem ?

Is there enough water in the radiator?

Right place mate.

As Will says, start by checking the coolant level. Top up with a suitable antifreeze mix, noting that the car may have a special VAG antifreeze (G12 family; which one depends on the colour of the coolant, but not the "ordinary glycol" blue).

As and when that's right, check whether or not the heater hoses get hot at the engine end. If they do, I'd suspect an airlock in the heater matrix

If they don't, you need someone to read fault codes in the heating system, particularly if the GF's car has air conditionong or the Climatronic system fitted.
