Mine have just started to change themselves as I go over rough roads (ie little to no resistance on them)

a) Is there an easy way for me to restore resistance on these switches/"volume controls"?

Super glue usually does the trick

Take it apart. Seems a bit strange that they have both gone at the same time :confused:

It happens with the dash brightness more than the headlight adjustment but both do suffer a little

mine seem to be fine, and thats on a 2003 122k mile car! Surely there not used very often anyway?!
