This time in the grey colour, it was a demo cos it had Superb stickers on the sides, looked very nice otr.

ive not seen any at all - how strange !!

My local dealer has a couple of demo cars, in black and grey. Both are diesels.

You should be seeing quite a few around MK seeing as Skoda UK and Skoda Finance are based there.

Actually, local in this case is Watford (I work near Hemel Hempstead).

Decided against going to the MK dealer, as (to put it bluntly) the salesman was a little bit of a mysogenist. My company was looking at buying 2 new Superbs, but the person picking up the tab was a woman (my MD). The dealer didn't want to talk to her, and kept trying to deal with me instead (admitedly, I spec'd both the cars, but I wasn't the one paying for them). He knew this, and yet still kept calling me to discuss the deal. In the end my MD got so fed up we walked away and found another dealer.

He lost £50k's worth of business, purely because he wouldn't deal with a woman :thumbdwn:

I actually like dealing with women, especially the ones that trust me not to ill advise them and take what advice I offer and actually use it rather than just thinking everything I say it just a sales ploy.

Shame he lost out on 2 new Superb deals though, I'm sure he'll be kicking himself now.

One thing I've noticed in the two I've seen, in the pictures the car looks awkward, in the showroom I still couldn't see it as it is, otr or parked outside it takes on a whole different look, a look of elegance imo, ok it's not got the leading edge design we see in the latest cars, but this sets it apart from the rest and gives it a whole different ball park appeal.

I agree with you.

I had seen many photos and I didn't specially like the car, basically because the tail lights reminded me of Renault Megane Classic (first generation). But the first time I saw it "live", my oppinion changed. I still think it'd look better with square rear lights (or at least with a more "agressive" design), but no doubt about it: you cant't trust photos. In fact it's a very elegant car.

(The same happened to me when I first saw the Lancia Thesis).

Coming back from Coventry on the M1 today, I approached a car on inside lane doing about 60mph. At first I thought Megane saloon, but as I got nearer I realized it was a Superb. Steel gray (near watford gap southbound)

Now having had an old Superb and wanting the new one, I have been looking at this since before launch.

However while I was convincing myself that I was comfortable in the appearance, I was unsure. Interior is gorgeous.

Now seeing one on the road from behind and side view as I cruised pass slowly, I have to admit that this is just one Butt-Ugly car.

I just couldn't live with a car that looks that bad.

Sorry if I offend, but I cannot fool myself anymore.

So off to car land to look at alternatives...

Still haven't seen one on the road. I've seen one outside a dealers but it was a strange hour of the night so didn't have a proper look. It looked quite smart though, but I need to see one in daylight before I make my mind up about it.

I have noticed alot more mk1s about of late though.

I don't think you can call it a looker but it looks smart enough, I would never pay for an upgrade on alloy wheels for example because I enjoy them only for the time it takes to walk from the front door to the car door, its the interior that really counts. That said I wouldn't buy a Roomster.

you say that but I spend half my week in MK and I've not seen any and I'm looking now.

Actually that is technically a lie I saw a client that is based on the same Industrial estate as Skoda UK and then I saw a couple :)

I've been looking for one ever since they were released. First one I saw......mine when I picked it up this morning

Have to say it looks very nice. Going to take a while to work out how to use all the technology though.

i am glad i havent seen any - makes them more exclusive !!!

surprised i havent seen any though !
