Is is it possible to get Alloy wheels repaired?

Featured Replies

Hi guys its me again =D

Just wondered is it possible to repair scratchs on Alloy wheels. Just got a VRS and want to get rid of marks on Alloys.

Anyone know if this is possible and what sort of company I need to be looking for. I live in bournemouth.

If they are light scuffs and scraped then they can be done at most body repairers and many places speacialise in it.

If we are talking bit chunks missing then it will obviously be a more serious job!

Cheers, ill ask at local skoda dealer then there only scratchs nothing major. Hopefully they can do while I wait =D

Wouldn't bother with main stealers for this kind of thing.

Just do a search for body repairs in your area and ring a few up for some prices.

They will be a lot cheaper than a main dealer for a start!

Yeah I wouldn't bother the dealer for this kind of job. Mine were touched up by their guy when I bought my car and it's the not the best match tbh. Sure some of the repairs are peeling as well. I'd definately look for a specialist in your area, or good bodyshop.

Anything not structural is possible and falls into the same category as car body repair. If it's minor surface scratches, they can be treated and reduced/hidden.

If we're talking kerbing, similar scuffs. I refer you to the "not structural" point. If the rim/bead is bent or cracked, throw it away and get another one. If it's corrosion or kerbing of the rim/spokes, then: Deep gouges can be tidied up and filled (think JB Weld etc...). Skill and time and effort yield the best results. Whell(s) will need respray/lacquering afterwards.

Whereabouts are you? How about putting your location in your profile info?

Then we could perhaps suggest some places to try that might be local to you.

No problem I will try figure out how to do that now.

If you get stuck I know a good bodyshop near Eastleigh, they have done a few for me in the past.
