local rag good review

Featured Replies

opened the local free paper this morning and the motoring section had a full page review of the superb. Generally it was a favourable review focussing on the value for money and big departure from the superb I. its pleasing that they didnt say "its based on the passat" like so many other reviewers do - infact they say it is not based on the passat like the outgoing model , although they say it is based on the octavia. Whilst this is not entirely untrue its a bit misleading. doesnt it use some passat parts and some octavia parts but is a platform in its own right ?

anyway - the only negative comments i have about the review are that they say it drives no different the octavia and in the "engines available" listing near the end they miss the 1.8T out and put the 2.0mpi in its place in error !!

The guy that writes the review has reputation for being harsh so its good that he gave the superb a thumbs up. interesting how the local dealer doesnt get a mention at all (this reviewer usually waxes lyrical about the local family skoda dealer) and the pics are stock pics taken from a german showroom ?

sorry i cant post a link as i cant find an electronic version - its only in the lincolnshire echo in ink i am afraid !
