dension gateway

so is this all you need to connect you ipod ?

?koda Accessories

seams cheap ?

This is to add full integration to the Columbus/Bolero unit, allowing touch screen control (like you'd have with an SD card)

iPod will connect via the Aux input in the centre armrest, this simply adds further control.

Got to correct you here, Alien8d.

The Dension 100 does not integrate with the touchscreen in any way.

The only interface which does is the VW MDI, and this costs about £250 (currently). There is a cheaper version on the way, but it's not available yet.

The Dension interface does give a pretty nice display in the MFD however, like this:

This is still a huge improvement over Aux-In, and is pretty reasonably priced. You do lose the CD changer connection though, so this might be a problem for some. Dension themselves do make a CD changer gateway addon, but this isn't in the Skoda price list currently.

Hmm, I stand corrected. My apologies. Thought this was the unit that did full integration (especially as your URL pointed you to the Skoda website). I was quoted only £120 for that unit installed (where did you get £250 from ?), so assumed it was the same one. However, as I don't have an iPod, I didn't take them up on the offer.

The Dension is about £120. However, the VW MDI interface is currently about £250 for the complete kit (which you have to fit yourself).

The MDI interface integrates really nicely with the touchscreen and gives you iPod, USB and Aux-In capabilities. There is a cheaper version on the horizon, which should cost about £140. Sadly, one of the parts that you need for the new interface is currently on hold with VW.
