Fabia..problems

Featured Replies

I recently bought a Fabia Comfort X reg 70,000 miles

I have some problems with it, and wondered the cost implications of taking it to a skoda garage were.

The Passenger electric window is broken, it can only be used to go up, i have to press down on my side.

To replace the radio player to a CD player. Halfords told me i need a special hoist? what is this!!

I occasionally have EPC on my dashboard, is this a problem?

Where can i get a battery for my key

Also how do i change the time on the clock on my dashboard, atm it just gives me the temperature of the outside...i know its bloody freezing the car doesn't need to tell me! lol

Also a wall ran in front of me, and the side of my car is scratched, how much would a door cost to be fixed

Thanks for any advice given.

- any auto electrics repair shop can fix the window

- no idea on the hoist

- no idea on the EPC

- battery can be replaced at any watch repair shop

- scratches - depends on how bad they are

What I'm trying to say, is that there's only one reason to take your car to the authorised dealer - to fix the possible Engine Management electronics. Everything else can be done at a much lower cost pretty much anywhere

Hi

You'll probably get more rsponses if you repost this on the Fabia 1 (ie Mark1 ) area

Good luck

Window - possibly the switch on the passenger door.

Radio - probably talking about a filler plate, as the standard radio is taller than the DIN standard one, about £3 from Skoda.

EPC light - possibly a brake light switch, a fault code read should reveal more.

Key battery should be a CR2032, remove the remote part and it will unclip into halves and battery replacement will be obvious. Tesco will likely sell these.

To change the trip computer display, press the rocker switch in the end of the windscreen wiper stalk.

See an independant body shop or chips away about the door.

Moved to Fabia I

do you have an asda nearyby? the fob batteries are 4 quid for both in the asda photography section.

EPC light is your fly by wire throttle. Car will have much less grunt when the epc light is on.

Window sounds like the switch to me. you should get a used one quite easily..

you need a small trim piece to change the headunit for a normal one. at halfords this wpud be about 14quid

from the skoda dealer they were less than 2quid when i needed one. i wouldnt have called it a hoist tho.

Myabe a harness? thats for wiring but you shouldnt need one maybe need a powere wire swapped in the head units harness so the memory works.

Funily enough it was a guy at halfrauds who fixed mine.
