Steering wheels not straight after work done

Featured Replies

It's been a while since I have had too moan about my car......So here goes

I had too have the the bottom arm rear wishbone bushes and tie rod ends changed due too a epic MOT fail.

Since then the steering wheel has been aiming at about 2 o clock, in other words it's way out:rolleyes:

I called in an alignment place last night and was told that everything is straight and not to bother having any work done. But the nice man also said the camber was but couldn't be adjusted.

So my question is how come my steering wheel ain't straight and what can be done too correct it.

Now I know theres any tiny amount of adjustment on the ball joint, and I'm wondering if this wasn't set in the right position but is it that much to cause my wheel too be so far off 12 o clock ???

try AandA tyres mate. I took mine there to have the bushes and alignment done, they got an ace setup.

go to the mew roundabout and head towards bookers iirc

past there and take the left turn oposite the mazda/ peugot ithink it is. it is a u road in like an industrial estate.

mine was off like that and since they looked at it she is almost perfec

lol

Sounds like they just checked the toe-in against the specs rather than doing a full alignment! If you've got a decent recommendation ( /\ ), I'd suggest using it!

I know A and A

I did work experiance there when I was 15 lol

I think a visit is in order

Billy how much did they charge ????

You're saying that going straight, it looks like you have 60deg of lock on!?

The only way I can see of that happening is if someone removed the steering wheel and put it on squint.

SWMBO's car had about 20-30deg of lock to the left when we got it. That and other things that have come to light suggest a past history not quite as squeaky-clean as the HPI report suggested, but all sorted now... Anyway, took it to the local [unspecified] tyre / exhaust / battery fitters, who did opposite turns on the trackrods, and 30 minutes later straight ahead meant straight ahead!
