Can someone remind me of the correct long-life motor oil specs for the 2.0 TDi140, please? Forgot to write in down in the manual... Thanks!

Edit: I've tried to search previous threads, but more often than not, I haven't a clue what they're on about. Too technical!

Short answer : VW 507.00

Medium answer : VW approved 507.00 will do the trick nicely (you will find it is also 504.00 approved, which is the petrol standard). Ignore anyone who prattles on about 10W-50 or 0W-40 or whatever, your engine was designed to run on an oil approved by VW to a specific performance standard (in this case VW 507.00).

Very long answer (as you have discovered) : do a search on 507 or oil.
