Thanks for all of you that will going to try to help me ....

Contact Skoda HQ in your home country if you have a issues with the dealer, and see what they think and maybe then can help.

I wouldn't get the hump over bulb intensity and lose a ton of money over it, this is what they call the beta phase, early cars always need an iron over them, as for the dealer if you have ones like I do here I appreciate your frustation with them, SUK aren't much better either, when I contacted them I 1st spoke with a nice lady who seemed to want to help, then another woman took over and all but told me tough **** before finally talking to a fella who advised me to let another set of eyes see the car, which if there had been another worth taking it to within 50 miles I would've, but the ones I could've taken it to have either poor or mixed reviews on here, mine now goes to VW for anything I can't do, so you might want to visit a VW dealer and ask if any of their models have had this fault and what the remedy is for it, and I think you will find the Golf suffered it, so that would be my advise to you, hth.

someone will get a bargain then :)

Dealer will, punter won't.

The dealer was unable to hrlp brcause the car is new?

haven't heard that one before but there must be a workaround.

The mechanics at your dealer might not me experienced with moderm skodas but show them a favorit and they'd prob fix it right back up

If it's anything like the Octavia II the dash brightness isn't controlled like in older cars by a potentiometer, but instead by the car doing PWM (Pulse Width Modulation) to turn the LED's on and off very quickly so they are less bright.

The potentiometer just sets between the minimum and maximum.

If there is a fix for this it will be a software fix, to set new minimum values, and not a hardware fix.

I don't think you'll find anything changed as I don't believe it was for the octy II.

if the car is just 10 days old just reject it and tell them you want a refund

if the car is just 10 days old just reject it and tell them you want a refund

thats a bit drastic - its only the dash dimmer that has a fault !!

the dealer should be given a fair chance to try and solve it. take the dealer the info about the PWM and software and see if they can look into it.

is it practical to go to another dealer , even if it means a little drive to the other dealer ?

is there an independednt VW specialist who can give an opinion - i am sure they will have seen similar sytems in other VW cars ?

If he was in the UK I'd say reject it too.

"Only" the dash dimmer, which they can't fix, which is the thing that you look at all the time so will be annoyed by most.

It's a new car and if a dealer can't fix or explain it then they can have it back.
