Mirror dipping when reverse engaged

Featured Replies

Hi, when I engage reverse gear my passenger mirror does not dip I thought I read some where this is possible can any one help with either enabling this function or the procedure to activate the mirror dipping.

Are there any prerequests?

I think that the mirror only drops when the swtch for adjusting the mirror on the drivers door is left on the "L".

Hi, thanks for that Ive tryed that but still fails to operate, do I need folding mirrors for this to work as I dont have these?

If that doesn't work then I think that you can check on Maxidot whether it is enabled or not.

Hi G.K, I dont have a high line dash display only the lower version without the MFD.

You need the electric memory drivers seat to enable the dipping mirror. The memory module knows the X-Y positions of each mirror for the memory position recall feature. An added feature is the dipping passenger mirror when reverse is engaged with the 'L' position selected on the mirror control.

I have this function on my L&K but not on my previous Elegance. Perhaps iti s not specced on your car.

sorry to bring this up but i have electric memory seats - but i dont see the mirrors go down

how do i check and ensure the mirrors dip down automatically during reversing?

What year and model is your car?

Obviously you need to ensure the electric mirror control knob is set to the 'L' position, any other setting and it won't dip. If the car is left hand drive the controls will be reversed as the kerbside is on the right hand side. Only the door mirror furthest from the driver will actually dip down.

Failing that, the facility might not be encoded in your car. I presume the door mirrors alter position if you select any of the 3 memory settings?

**Edit**

I've just had a thought,

I think you have to set the dipped position of the mirror. Engage reverse, select 'L' and then adjust the position you want the mirror to dip to in reverse.
